Today, Keir Starmer met with business leaders in Downing Street to discuss the impact of the Iran war on the UK economy. The meeting included senior representatives from the energy, shipping, and financial services sectors, focusing on the ongoing blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and the implications for oil prices and household costs. Starmer emphasized the need for a joint effort between the government and the private sector to address rising energy, fuel, and food prices, as well as to protect British interests amid geopolitical tensions.
err joint usually means both, what exactly are the government doing, apart from monitoring price hikes and droning on about 150 quid off energy bills which has not materialised and putting fuel duty up in September
