I'm really not surprised he's gone with what's happening on here at the moment, its not really a pleasant atmosphere/envoirment.

People are breaking rules because theyre angry at some mods, then they get warnings, so more people get angry and break more rules. Then people get angry at mods for people being banned, and then people leave cos of the atmosphere

Edit: This reply was to a post that is now deleted, I'm not just talking to myself.

You make some good points, again. However, one major point you brought forward was... " this recent upset of a select number of members leaving was caused by the Moderators partner throwing a wobbler the other day when three previously banned members decided to return and post in a friendly manner."

The members are banned for a reason. Yes, a lot of them were, and still are - very much liked. However, they caused enough trouble to be banned and so when they come back its a little too late to post in a friendly manner. They were meant to come back and post 'in a friendly manner' after their very first warnings, they didn't take the hint and continued to break rules. By your reasoning, there is no end. We ban members, and then let them back, then ban them, and let them back. The system with 3 warnings ensure they have time to come back and post in a friendly manner (unless they do something atrociously wrong and get an outright ban).

It's not a case of them not getting a second chance, because thats what the warning system is about. Unfortunately for them, they took their chances for granted and now it's too late for them to try and make up for the past.

I think blaming the mod in question (and moreso his partner? she has no mod powers so I can't even see why so many people are angry just because she made her views clear on something! thats what a forum is about) is counterproductive. He's not going to purposefully ruin TiBB, so what he does is in the best interests of members who follow rules.

"you are not privy to what get's said in u2u or MSN/Yahoo and so fourth"

This is true, I am not. However, MSN/Yahoo is not TiBB. The rules do not apply there, and does not affect the members on the forum.

And finally (phew, this is good procrastination ).
"But then I saw the final comments that "molecular" made in a now-deleted thread and I can understand why the male moderator chose to leave him unbanned."

Firstly, you complained that the partner of the moderator in question didn't leave it up to James/Mark when the trouble was sparked, and instead 'threw a wobbly', yet here you are suggesting things 'beyond' what James/Mark might see? Surely you too, and other members should leave the forum-running up to James and Mark too, instead of forming your own conspiracy theories? You show a dislike to the mods partner because she got involved in something that should have been left to admins, but here you are yourselves (not you in particular, but a large group of members) also trying to decide how the forum should be run. Hardly fair?

I have a feeling this is a case of where one member becomes disillusioned with one mod, mentions it to others on U2U and Yahoo/Msn. They then start a (for want of a better word) 'bitching sesh' on said mod/admin, and then start watching out for anything that can be twisted to follow their beliefs.

I shall remain confident that the mod in question (and his seemingly innocent partner, who I shall remind you, has no mod powers - so how come people are saying she is responsible?) is doing his job properly and to the best of his ability (mods are people too, and he might make some mistakes).

No-one has been banned unfairly, we just don't do that. There is always a specific reason and we don't do it lightly. In fact no-one has been permanently banned. With regards to the reasons I posted for the ban that was given... believe me, I am doing that person a favour by not repeating what was said.

Part of the problem is that the mods/admin get to see a lot of posts and threads that have been deleted, sometimes members don't get to see some things that have caused someone to be banned so it can, at first glance seem unfair. Sometimes you just have to take it on trust that we act fairly.

To answer why a lot of threads and posts have been locked and deleted... well, unfortunately, there has been a lot of spam / attempts to escalate forum 'drama'. Last night wasn't great... it was like those shoe-selling spammers x 100. A lot of work for us, and I'm sure of little or no interest to most people on the forum.

It has been said that this was triggered by someone making a post that banned members coming back was annoying. Well it is! Even moreso for the staff of this site, who have to spend ages investigating IP addresses, posting styles and other stuff. And what is worse is that it makes people suspect all new members of being previously banned. It is damaging for this forum. I acknowledge of course that banned members often think they have nothing to lose by coming back but what else can we do...

By the way the bit that I edited out (incidentally this is an example of what I said above about how members don't always see something that leads to a ban) of 'TrainOf.....Thought' aka Nodisharmony's post above is a prime example (his habit of creating strange false identities being another) of why we could never tolerate that user's post's again or unban that user... it was quite nasty - deliberately confusing rumour with reputation - saying falsely that someone is disliked so that people will start to believe it. All of it worded in a seemingly friendly post that praised some people (but isolated others). Very snide, sneaky and 'divide and rule'... a politician's tactic.

As far as MrLuvaLuva is concerned, I think he is good member who makes interesting posts and I know he wasn't involved in this current situation. I can tell you that the mods on here have spent quite a bit of time trying to resolve any problems he has had on this forum... it would be a shame for that to go to waste. So I hope he sticks around.

If anyone wants to u2u me about any of this I will try to answer any more questions you have.

Well that's a lie. Haven't changed much have you Disharmony?

I may be banned but I come back to post about Big Brother shows, not to get involved in the everlasting playground squabbles this place stages.

I think it might be a good thing thing that Stu and Baz have left. As two of the more prominent posters on this forum, their absense will hopefully give space for new and weaker members to take their place.

Don't you think some people can miss their posts or were friends with them ? That's not a nice thing to say. Can't wait for you to leave if you think so. Hopefully it will give space for new and weaker members to take your place.

I was tryin to find some sort of light at the end of a tunnel. I myself very much enjoyed the company of both but if neither are happy here, why try to make them come back? Yes I will miss them but maybe just maybe something good can come from them leaving.

First of all Stu will be back as he is not banned for good. And nothing is good when a great member leaves (Linda, Luva ...) and if you enjoyed their compagny of course. I just don't see how it could be.

And thats fine, you don't have to but you didn't have to say that you "couldn't wait for me to leave". You had no right to say that because we didn't sahre the same opinion.

Why would anyone want to take a 'Higher position' on a forum? I don't get it. Some people treat this place as if you have to have millions of posts and be amazingly funny and be loved by everyone and gain popularity. The sooner Stu is back the better! I just hope he'll be more careful next time. Its his last warning. Also, It would be great to have MrLuvaluva back as well as Chewy. And I wish Shaun was unbanned

All the amazing members are leaving/banned. I can only think of about 6 or 7 now

You can't feel it, its just with what people have been posting and fighting leaves people to feel quite negative and not post much.

Its Stu. TiBB's Most Counterproductive Member - 2007.

You lot deserve to know what happened with me last night. So before this account is banned , let me tell you , and hopefully it will clear up some problems.

Many people think I am related to the whole Shaun incedent. However , that was only part of my leaving. All I will say is that I was/am tired of some of the forums censorship and treatment of its members. The Big Brother game not being allowed back , despite an overwhelming majority wanting it back , was also another factor in my leaving. Censorship. Damage control.

Thats all I will say on the matter , as I dont want this post deleted. Like I said , you lot deserve an explanation. Not everybody might think this forum is too censorship ridden , and thats fine , but they are my views.

Now for last night. Thats when the **** hit the fans. I made the choice , without trolling or spamming , to leave. I wanted to go out in quiet a weird fashion , so I became the first ever TiBB member to ASK MYSELF FOR A BAN.

This thread , sadly , was locked. Dont ask me why , because I honestly dont know.

What followed was me getting a ban after trying to give myself a farewell thread twice. That was it. Despite a personal message to the owner of this forum , I was not given my thread.

Thus , it was AFTER that the spamming commenced.

Anyway , its been a blast and all that , but im leaving on a jet plane. Wave goodbye. And no , im not coming back. So please , leave this message here. I dont want a third party telling people what happened.

Stu, you were by far one of the best TiBB members ever I loved all your posts. You were funny, witty and knew how to put people in their place. You were just, well, Stu All the best for the future,

Conor.
