Kejsi Tola won the contest to represent Albania. Her song is called "Me Merr ne Enderr" or in English, "Bring me in your dream"

Its a pretty long song, but its catchy and upbeat.

I thought i would bump it a bit.

Britain is down to it's 3 finalists! With the Emperors Of Soul leaving the competition last night! 3 Stand: Jade, Mark and The Twins!!

Personally i think only Jade stands a chance is Moscow! But thats just me!

Mark and Jade should be the final 2, but the final winner should be Jade IMO, she has something special.

Webber and Warren wrote UK song in two hours

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren, together in charge of penning the UK song for this year's Eurovision Song Contest, admitted they already wrote the piece! My Time was written in two hours, and could be transformed into a ballad of a strong up-tempo piece. At least it didn't cost Webber and Warren much of their time to come up with a song for Moscow...

Famous composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is highly involved in this year's UK selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. In Your Country Needs You, a weekly elimination show on the BBC, TV-viewers and Webber look for the right person to represent their country on stage in Moscow, in front of some 100 million viewers. "If we win we shall have to host next year's show and it's going to cost Ł25 million - that's what the Russians are spending. Actually, it's probably going to cost Ł300 million by then, bearing in mind the pound will be valueless by that time," Webber jokes in the interview with The Daily Mail.

My Time

"The song is called My Time," Webber says. "It has been written in a way that it can be done by any of the remaining contestants, but I've come to the decision, rightly or wrongly, that what most countries will be doing, particularly in the stadium that's being used, is trying to fill it. Certainly the acts I've seen so far, they've all been pretty girls with four dancers, or pole vaulters or skaters or elephants or whatever."

The world of Eurovision

The artist who wins the UK national selection also gets a record deal with Universal. Webber: "The reason is simple. Which is the single biggest entertainment that's come out of musical theatre in ten years and out of musical film? Mamma Mia! Where did that start? Eurovision. What was the biggest live entertainment show around the world in the past ten years? Riverdance. Where did that come from? Eurovision. So if you've got the right artist and the right song it is not something to laugh at," he concludes.

You can read the full interview with Andrew Lloyd Webber, in which he reveals some amusing details about his visit to Russian Prime-Minister Vladimir Putin, on the website of The Daily Mail.

What do you think about Webber's efforts to start a new Eurovision Song Contest era in the UK? Does The UK Have A Chance? Please leave your comment!

Agreed. Jade is our best chance, however she still has 0.0001% more chance of winning than other years. The UK should pull out. The good thing is the winner of Your Country Needs You wins a contract with Universal.

I don't think it's a waste of time. There is a big eastern block but that doesn't always mean someone from the east will win. Just most of the time..

Mark or Jade FTW.

However, whoever gets picked doesn't matter. The United Kingdom will fail badly.

The final songs have been picked for Britian's 3 Finalists!!!

And here they are:

Each act will sing three songs during the live show - one a new song they'll prepare just for the final, one a song that they performed earlier in the series... and most importantly, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren's brand new Eurovision song, "My Time", which all three acts will perform live.

Mark: Try A Little Tenderness (The Commitments); Me And Mrs Jones (Billy Paul), My Time (Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren's Eurovision song).

The Twins: Sweet About Me (Gabriella Cilmi); The Promise (Girls Aloud), My Time (Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren's Eurovision song).

Jade: Lady Marmalade (Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya and L'il Kim); Deja Vu (Beyonce), My Time (Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren's Eurovision song).

Which act will seize Eurovision glory? Which two acts will fall at the final fence?

Theme art presented

The 54th Eurovision Song Contest has a look! Today, the Reference Group of the contest approved the design materials presented by Host Broadcaster Channel One Russia. This year's running will not be accompanied by a theme slogan, as did happen in previous years.

The colorful design, often referred to as the 'sub-logo', was made by The Red Square, the production company Channel One picked to work with for this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The main design element has the shape of a 'fantasy bird'. It can be applied on various colors and surfaces, both in its totality as well as in parts. It accompanies the generic Eurovision Song Contest logo, this year carrying the Russian flag.

So tonight was busy in the night of Eurovision. The UK and other countries have selected their songs. So who was picked and from where well lets have a little listen.

First lets go to Romania..
Elena Gheorghe was picked in the national selection. She won with 22 Points.

Elena Gheorghe - The Balkan Girls

Finland is sending a band called Waldo's People. Will the win with this upbeat techno song??

Waldo's People - Lose Control [[Official Video]]

Now.. The UK. The battle was won by Jade. And she will sing a ballad called It's My Time. She beat Mark and The Twins to the crown.

Jade Ewen - It's My Time.

What do YOU think of the songs chosen tonight?

I am willing to give our entry a chance, its a nice contrast. And the song is fitting to the whole idea of this year, I wanted a fast song... but if everyone is fast and we are slow we might stand out!

Fingers crossed!
