Exactly. I'm not saying Arista is wrong - I just don't know, so I'd like a non right wing sauce to back it up. I don't even like KB, so if she was lying about it, or she had a misunderstanding, then that's absolutely nothing that would affect me in any way. JHB has a history of acting in bad faith, and flatout making BS up, so an independent sauce is all I'm seeking.

If he was booked SkyNewsHD Burley

Three former Labour MPs - including Jeremy Corbyn ally Chris Williamson - have been banned from standing by the party's National Executive Committee.

Mr Williamson, who represented Derby North, was suspended in an anti-Semitism row.

Stephen Hepburn, ex-MP for Jarrow, was being investigated over a sexual harassment claim, denied by him, while Roger Godsiff was facing a reselection battle in Birmingham Hall Green.

New candidates will be chosen instead.

Politico publish who's doing what on the media round each day, this was Cleverly's schedule:

MEDIA ROUND
Conservative Party Chairman James Cleverly broadcast round: ITV Good Morning Britain (7.10 a.m.) … BBC Breakfast (7.30 a.m.) … LBC Nick Ferrari at Breakfast (7.30 a.m.) … BBC Radio 4 Today (8.10 a.m.) … BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast (8.35 a.m.) … TalkRadio Julia Hartley Brewer Show (8.40 a.m.) … ITV News (8.50 a.m.).

And these were the only confirmed guests on Kay Hurley

on Kay Burley @ Breakfast: Liberal Democrat Finchley and Golders Green candidate Luciana Berger (7.05 a.m.) … Conservative Bishop Auckland candidate Dehenna Davison and Labour Uxbridge candidate Ali Milani (7.30 a.m.) … Green party co-leader Jonathan Bartley (8.05 a.m.).

https://www.politico.eu/newsletter/l...ital-election/

Cleverly might have said he'd do Kay Burley if time between other interviews but it wasn't officially booked so embarassing from her really

It's gonna be a close one. I think either Labour or Tories will get a fairly comfortable lead, or there'll be a LibLab or ConLib coalition.

I know that's practically every possibility but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised with any.

I’m not quite sure why people think Kay would purposely risk her reputation and career to make up a story about a politician skipping on a booked interview? Makes zero sense

One of them is obviously lying, but they've both backed themselves into a corner now so it will be impossible for the other to own up to it. I doubt KB and JC would have discussed it themselves in person, so there should be a paper trail/phone call with a producer/text msg confirming it which I hope she is able to produce in her article.

She said during the segment that he apparently agreed to appear over text so if that’s the case, he’ll be well and truly done over

Well I suspect that the truth is between the two stories - he told Kay he'd appear but it wasn't part of the official media round and he skipped it either due to lack of time or because his interviews weren't going that well. I saw him on GMB and it was a bad interview for him but it did also overrun significantly which obviously impedes on his ability to do other interviews and so it makes sense to prioritise the ones that were booked officially first

That scenario is very possible, he’s a busy man, I think it’s more likely though that he chose to skip it to go for the softball interview on familiar ground after a disastrous morning
