Not an Irish connection but Corinthians were set up after a London team called Corinthians were touring Brazil, the English team are called Corinthians Casuals now and are in the Isthmian league but apparently they're still really popular among the Brazilian Corinthians fans and one of the supporters groups organises a trip over for them to watch the team play every year
