Thanks for saying that MB, you didn't have to draw attention to the fact you named it as a country too

I think I accepted it for MB because it would've been seen as a country at the time, when it was named "Savage Island", but obviously this pre-dated the whole "recognised by the United Nations" thing so it's a bit of a grey area. If anything it did make me a little inclined to go back and give MB a wrong answer but it's all good. At least nobody said something embarrassing like John Barrowman

Oh also, re: the Sir David Attenborough question, it has to be one that he has presented and been the key contributor to. If he's popped up as a narrator on someone else's documentary then it won't count. Anything under "Major Projects" here would count: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_...gh_filmography but "Other programmes" won't because they mostly consist of guest appearances on things like talkshows, interviews, other documentary-makers' work, etc.

Have so far got answers from Black Dagger, Strictly Jake, Cal, Niamh, Matthew, James, Calderyon, AnnieK, Rob!, Liam-, Amy Jade, Ammi, MTVN, Cherie, Denver, Mitchell & Smithy.
If I'm remembering correctly that means I'm just waiting on Jake, Babayaro, Jessica, MB and Daniel (and indeed anyone who missed Round 5)

As stated, an incorrect answer would be worth 21pts this time.
Pointless 1) Name a TV show presented by Sir David Attenborough Shaun - The First Eden (1987) Black Dagger - Superfish: Bluefin Tuna Calderyon - Destruction of the Indian Liam- - Life in the Freezer AnnieK - Life in Cold Blood Rob! - The Lost Gods of Easter Island Strictly Jake - Wildlife On One Cal - The Queen's Green Planet Niamh - Heart of a Nomad Matthew. - Secrets of Wild India Ammi - Blue Planet Cherie - The Trials of Life Smithy - Life - East Africa (1967) Denver - A Blank on the Map MTVN - Secrets of Wild India Mitchell - Attenborough and Animals Tony Montana - Dynasties MB - Animal Crime Scene Jake. - Dynasties Babayaro - Uncovering Our Earliest Ancestor: The Link Jessica - Lost Worlds, Vanished Lives With 120 correct answers I would've assumed that this would be a damage-free round... it wasn't to be, however. 2) Name an element on the periodic table whose symbol is a single letter Shaun - Potassium (K) Black Dagger - Tungsten (W) Calderyon - Sulfur (S) Liam- - Hydrogen (H) AnnieK - Boron (B) Rob! - Phosphorous (P) Strictly Jake - Tungsten (W) Cal - Boron (B) Niamh - Iodine (I) Matthew. - Uranium (U) Ammi - Carbon (C) Cherie - Oxygen (O) Smithy - Carbon (C) Denver - Boron (B) MTVN - Vanadium (V) Mitchell - Uranium (U) Tony Montana - Yttrium (Y) MB - Potassium (K) Jake. - Oxygen (O) Babayaro - Sulfur (S) Jessica - Sulfur (S) 14 possible answers here and nobody goes for Fluorine (F) or Nitrogen (N). Sulfur and Boron score 2pts, everything else scores 1. 3) Name a type of renewable energy Shaun - Tidal Black Dagger - Geothermal Calderyon - Tidal Liam- - Hydro AnnieK - Biomass Rob! - Tidal Strictly Jake - Biomass Cal - Geothermal Niamh - Tidal Matthew. - Geothermal Ammi - Solar Cherie - Tidal Smithy - Solar Denver - Wind MTVN - Biomass Mitchell - Tidal Tony Montana - Tidal MB - Hydro Jake. - Wind Babayaro - Wind Jessica - Wind Unsurprisingly, with only six valid answers this was a bit of a mess. Re: the nuclear argument, it involves breaking apart atoms of radioactive materials so will still, technically, run out of materials one day (even if it's far less imminent than fossil fuels). I had to autocorrect a few of these answers since you gave different names for the same source of power. Solar and Hydro score 1, Biomass and Geothermal score 2, Wind scores 3 and Tidal scores 6. 4) Name a moon that is in our solar system (other than Earth's) Shaun - Albiorix Black Dagger - Callisto Calderyon - Galatea Liam- - Despina AnnieK - Ganymede Rob! - Puck Strictly Jake - Iapetus Cal - Hegemone Niamh - Puck Matthew. - Carme Ammi - Phobos Cherie - Suttungr Smithy - Sinope Denver - Himalia MTVN - Iapetus Mitchell - Ananke Tony Montana - Proteus MB - S/2004 S 22 Jake. - Belinda Babayaro - Euanthe Jessica - Ijiraq So many beautiful names from poetry and classic civilisation here... but it doesn't get more striking than S/2004 S 22 Puck and Iapetus score 1. 5) Name someone who's won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry Shaun - Adolf Butenandt Black Dagger - Frederick Soddy Calderyon - Luis F Leloir Liam- - Melvin Calvin AnnieK - Dan Schechtman Rob! - Ben Feringa Strictly Jake - Adolf Butenandt Cal - Walter Gilbert Niamh - Fritz Pregl Matthew. - Alan J Heeger Ammi - John B Goodenough Cherie - R. A. Zsigmondy Smithy - Aziz Sincar Denver - Irwin Rose MTVN - Willard Libby Mitchell - Richard Martin Willstaetter Tony Montana - Gerhard Ertl MB - Wendell Meredith Stanley Jake. - John B Fenn Babayaro - George Charles de Hevesy Jessica - Otto Paul Hermann Diels "Surely no one else will pick the one called Adolf who won during the era of Nazi Germany," Shaun naively thought. 6) Name an animal to have suffered at the hands of poachers Shaun - Coyotes Black Dagger - Lemurs Calderyon - Pangolins Liam- - Chestnut-mandibled toucans AnnieK - Chacma baboons Rob! - Impalas Strictly Jake - Pangolins Cal - Pacific parakeets Niamh - Gorillas Matthew. - Pangolins Ammi - Rhinos Cherie - Grouses Smithy - Thylacines Denver - Muskoxen MTVN - Wattled guans Mitchell - Lemurs (no chicken's do not count because their eggs are "poached" ) Tony Montana - Lemurs MB - Spiny dogfish Jake. - Lemurs Babayaro - Lemurs Jessica - Asian elephants Was looking nice and peaceful until the stragglers all came in talking about lemurs. They score 4pts, whilst Pangolins score 2. 7) Name a species of bird native to the UK Shaun - Bittern Black Dagger - Long Tailed Tit Calderyon - Dunnock Liam- - Yellowhammer AnnieK - Great cormorant Rob! - Fieldfare Strictly Jake - Great tit Cal - Scottish Crossbill Niamh - Turnstone Matthew. - Great tit Ammi - Robin Cherie - Jackdaw Smithy - Common shelduck Denver - Cretzschmar's bunting MTVN - Hawfinch Mitchell - Magpie Tony Montana - Starling MB - St. Kilda Wren Jake. - Nightjar Babayaro - Eurasian spoonbill Jessica - Dipper ...something something "not so great tits". 8) Name a country severely impacted by the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004 Shaun - Bangladesh Black Dagger - Somalia Calderyon - Seychelles Liam- - India AnnieK - Somalia Rob! - Madagascar Strictly Jake - Kenya Cal - Mauritius Niamh - Somalia Matthew. - Myanmar Ammi - Indonesia Cherie - India Smithy - Myanmar Denver - Madagascar MTVN - Somalia Mitchell - Somalia Tony Montana - Kenya MB - Myanmar Jake. - Seychelles Babayaro - Australia Jessica - Tanzania Other valid answers would've included Yemen, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, South Africa... basically anywhere on the East of Africa or touching the Indian ocean, really. In a way I'm glad this happened before social media was really a thing, because the devastation caused by this is frightening enough without super-visceral first hand footage readily retweetable. Seychelles, India, Kenya and Madagascar score 1, Myanmar scores 2, whilst Somalia scores 4. 9) Name a type of poisonous mushroom Shaun - Club-footed clitocybe Black Dagger - Deadly skullcap (galerina marginata) Calderyon - Cinnamon webcap Liam- - Fly agaric (amanita muscaria) AnnieK - Destroying angel Rob! - Destroying angel Strictly Jake - Fools funnel Cal - Club-footed clitocybe Niamh - Fly agaric (amanita muscaria) Matthew. - Fools funnel Ammi - Death cap Cherie - Spiny puffball Smithy - Panther cap Denver - Angels wing MTVN - Lepiota subincarnata Mitchell - Poison champagne amanita Tony Montana - Deadly skullcap (galerina marginata) MB - Liberty cap Jake. - Fly agaric (amanita muscaria) Babayaro - "Little white mushroom" (trogia venenata) Jessica - Sulfur tuft (hypholoma fasciculare) Turned out to be the trickiest question to moderate because I had to make sure the scientific names some of you were giving weren't the same as their common names (and, indeed, some were). Everything here scores 1 point with the exception of the fly agaric mushroom, scoring 2. 10) Name one of the body's five senses. Shaun - Hearing Black Dagger - Touch Calderyon - Sight Liam- - Smell AnnieK - Smell Rob! - Smell Strictly Jake - Taste Cal - Hearing Niamh - Hearing Matthew. - Touch Ammi - Sight Cherie - Smell Smithy - Touch Denver - Taste MTVN - Hearing Mitchell - Smell Tony Montana - Hearing MB - Smell Jake. - Touch Babayaro - Sight Jessica - Hearing Tasting comes off best here with just the 1pt. Sight is next-best with 2pts. Touching manages a reasonable 3, but Hearing and Smelling are the worst pair with 5pts each. Scores Ammi - 4 Smithy - 7 Denver - 7 Liam- - 9 MB - 9 Cal - 10 Jessica - 10 Strictly Jake - 10 Babayaro - 11 Calderyon - 13 Cherie - 13 Jake. - 13 Matthew. - 13 MTVN - 13 AnnieK - 14 Rob! - 14 Shaun - 14 Black Dagger - 15 Niamh - 17 Tony Montana - 18 Mitchell - 20 Congrats once more to Ammi, and a close tie for second between Adam and Smithy!

Film 1. Name a film starring Amy Adams 2. Name someone who has directed a Batman film 3. Name a popular genre of film 4. Name a film with a type of animal in its (English) title 5. Name a Disney prince (not princess!) 6. Name a horror film franchise 7. Name a character that has been portrayed by Robert De Niro 8. Name a film that won Best International Feature Film at the Academy Awards, other than Parasite 9. Name a film that won Best Picture at the Academy Awards in the 1980s 10. Name a film starring Sean Penn For the Pointless round: all "name a film..." questions must be cinema (or Netflix/Amazon) releases; no straight to DVD nonsense thank you! For #4, the type of animal can be singular or plural, so go wild with that one. In the likely event that Amy Adams happens to also be the name of a less famous actress, I am specifically asking for the famous one For #7, I want a full name that he is credited for in the film... no "cameo" appearances or extra work before he was famous, thanks! For #9, any film that won Best Picture at the Oscars between 1980 and 1989 is eligible; I know the winner in 1990 will have been released in the 80s but it's still a 90s ceremony.

So Ammi’s tactic of putting mainly the same answer for top and pointless is paying off while the rest of us are googling like mad
