Dutch Labs: we are ready for 51.000 coronavirus tests

2 of the 5 corona quick testkits are ready for usage, quick testing tells you within 15 minutes if you got corona or not

Health Minister De Jonge is very excited about this quick testing, and they bought huge numbers of those

yes and speaking of percentages, here in Netherlands they did a survey

70% of people want stricter measures, requirement on masks

but what does our PM Rutte do, he said it isn't necessary yet to go for even more stricter measures, based on advice from OMT basically ignoring majority of dutch people

One of our councillors just posted that Nicola sturgeon will today close all pubs that dont sell food and restrict hours for pubs that do sell food as well as banning them from selling alcohol and it will last 16 days.

I'm not sure if that will happen tbh but can already imagine the uproar if it does lol

I guess we will find out at 2.50pm

They might change their minds when furlough ends at the end of the month and they have to return to working at least some hours to get 77% of their pay. Doesn't leave a lot left over for childcare

This is the dilemma really isn't it; I don't think they can start closing schools without continuing furlough with no work requirement. We're lucky in that I work from home these days so childcare isn't an issue, but if it was, we'd be screwed if they closed schools. It would be literally impossible; my youngest would require specialist childcare and that's not something you can just pick up easily .

With a 2 week ban on indoor alcohol sales? If that's true then we have an even bigger problem with drunks than the stereotypes suggest.

Not all ICU cases are ventilator cases. BoJo was never on ventilator, for example.

in Scotland, what it means is that all the infected people will pile into packed cars and head out to pubs in the sticks increasing the spread of infection. I wonder sometimes if anyone thinks these things through.

Also, these new rules are much more complicated than anything bojo thought up

I agree. I don't understand these new rules for Scotland. They don't make any sense at all!

Yes given that alcohol sales are a pretty major part of the industry's revenue its going need a hell of a lot of government support to fill that hole

Given these places now have to close at 6pm anyway how big a danger is the serving of alcohol? You can go to a restaurant for lunch but God forbid you have a glass of wine or a beer with it, I guess that inevitably leads to hordes of drunks draped all over each other at 5.30pm on a Tuesday

All very puritanical

Just listened to Nic's speech so many of those infected had visited a pub or restaurant, but she concedes that doesn't mean they picked up the virus there, just an easy target

We are being asked not to travel out with our district (the 3 areas with the highest infection rate that is)
