I wasn't expecting it to be that good, such a brilliant mark to the 50th anniversary.

I suspected Capaldi might be thrown in somewhere. Also that Billie Piper wouldn't be playing Rose.
It was great to see Tom Baker given a part to do at the end. Still a great actor. A lot of it felt like meandering unfortunately for me, it didn't all flow. The Zygon/Elizabeth stuff felt like padding and something RTD might have been able to make a bit more fun to watch. But the opening 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes were excellent. I liked the 12 of them all stood together, dodgy CGI and all.

I was just thinking...The Master will now be free again, and Rassilion (if The Master didn't toast him) and all the other time lords too, I really can't wait to see what happens next!

Just finished watching, I thought it was really good, slightly confusing at times. The only doctor I've watched is Matt Smith, so I didn't get some of the stuff.

I'm a bit torn about the moment not actually happening.
Although 9, 10 and 11 still go on and have their dark brooding about what they think they did. We now know they didn't actually do it. Takes something out of it I suppose. |

I dunno, in 'Night of the Doctor' the Doctor was still a young man, where as he's old by the end of the time war, he's still been doing a lot of killing. I'm glad Gallifrey is saved, it was always going to come back, and this is the best way they could have done it, it's like a whole new chapter for the show, the Doctor is no longer this dark angsty 'Last of the Timelords' he finally knows where he's going.

SIGH

I don't quite understand a few things in the episode.
Although I went on DS straight after to see if they made any sense of it, with time lines and already established events. The End of Time for instance, someone mentioned that the Time Lords in tonight's episode spoke of the High Council sealing themselves away to find a way of ending the war while the Time Lords in the War Room carried on. Which means the events of The End of Time still happened, alongside the events of tonight's. Thought it was a good episode. So glad the Timelords are finally back. Well alive at any rate. I was hoping for a bit more Time War action and felt some parts of the story wasn't really needed. The Zygon plot was left gaping open with no resolution.

I really enjoyed it, but echoing what's already been said. It did feel a little short.
2 hours would have been more appropriate. Like The End of Time which was a perfect length. From the trailer I pretty much figured that Billie wouldn't play Rose, but god I hoped she would appear even for a second. However, if the only negative thing I can take away from it is that their was no Rose Tyler, then they've not done too bad. At least they got Billie back and sort of in a way that would please the die-hards in terms of integrity instead of just putting her in for the sake of it. However, with good writing, it could have been managed.

... plus this was misleading because she looks her normal self here and this kept me holding on to the hope that this Rose would appear.
