Mercedes McQueen's troubles get worse on Hollyoaks in a fortnight's time when she discovers that Mitzeee Minniver isn't her only love rival.

The new mum has tried to make life hell for Mitzeee in recent weeks, secretly stalking the glamour girl and scheming to keep her out of Riley Costello's affections.

However, Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) receives a shock in early June as she realises that her friend Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan) has been the bigger threat all along.

Lynsey and Riley have been keeping their relationship under wraps, but they finally go public during a Jubilee party at the McQueens' house in an upcoming episode.

After striking up a bond of friendship with Lynsey in recent months, exactly how Mercedes will react to the surprising romance remains to be seen…

The latest setback for Mercedes will come just a few days after the devastating blow that Silas Blissett won't stand trial.

Show bosses had previously teased that Mercedes's behaviour would spiral out of control again after learning of the authorities' decision. More details of this have now been revealed with the news that she'll be heading back into the arms of sleazy Doctor Browning again...

The villagers hear the news about Silas on Monday, May 28, while the big Jubilee party at the McQueen house takes place a week later on Monday, June 4.

I am still enjoying this current psycho Mercedes thing to her usual man eater, not learning from her mistakes.

Jennifer Metcalfe is a good Actress IMO and her best scenes were when they shown Malachy's death, where she really stood out!

I like Mercy. She's one of the best characters there. But they need to give her some new storylines.

I agree this Bart plot is awful, so many plot holes

1. Who tipped of the Police to search the McQueens
2. How did he sell the Savages home thing, and when he did where was they?
3. How did he manage to break into the school
4. Why was that lesbian teacher at the school so early

PJ Brennan has revealed that his Hollyoaks character Doug reveals his homosexuality for the first time next week.

Brennan's alter ego Doug Carter shared a kiss with business partner Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) earlier this month, but has since been unable to cope with his feelings.

Speaking to Inside Soap, the American actor explained: "Doug has shut himself off from the world - he hasn't been showing up for work and has been hiding away from Texas, Leanne and Denns.

"He's wholly unwilling to deal with the issue at hand - that's very much like Doug - and to everyone else he appears to be slipping into a deep depression.

"What's been cool about filming these scenes is discovering the nice group of people Doug has around him."

Teasing how Doug overcomes his fears, Brennan added: "Texas comes to the forefront, as she's one of the most important people in his life at Hollyoaks.

"There's a lovely moment where she gently coaxes him into telling her the truth about his homosexuality."
