The media need to keep this story going until the schools open on the 1st June then they can swamp us with that story

URGH the lack of logic here (no offense)

i don't care what function Cummings has, i don't think about this in a political way

i more am disgusted by him, him just more ignoring the risks a family visit can have these current times, especially his parents being elderly, therefore being among high risk group

what he has done for the Brexiteers well ok he has done good things, but here he just has been wrong, and if not sacked, then more demoted into lower role in the party and should've received a fine for breaking a rule

also hope everyone in here also avoids visiting elderly parents or other relatives

sorry but i just wanted to have this said

Sadly there isn't an election due any time soon and this will be ancient history by the time there's another GE.

Just watching Sky’s Press Review where there is an absolute imbecile on ranting away about Cummings !!

James Meadway ... what an absolute bell***..

I don’t know why Sky give these people airtime as they just can’t give reasonable views on anything

I'm amazed at how amazed everyone is (and also that anyone believes the eye test story). We're all amazed!

Hand on heart do you really believe he drove the family 30 minutes to TEST his eyesight ?

I heard him say that both him and his wife had reservations as to wether he had recovered enough to attempt the long drive home .. after being very poorly for the previous week or so ... he also referred to his eyesight being ‘weird’ as a filler to help justify how ill he’d been ..

Now there’s a whole ridiculous media frenzy suggesting he made the ‘test drive’ SOLELY to check his eyesight was ok

Not sure how telling another lie (that you think you're the only one that realises) makes this whole issue any better for him.

He never said that he took his family on that 30 minute drive to TEST his eyesight like everyone is suggesting though .

Here’s an excerpt from his statement

Let’s get some facts down here !!

::

“She didn't want to risk a nearly 300-mile drive with our child, given how ill I had been. We agreed that we should go for a short drive to see if I could drive safely. We drove for roughly half an hour and ended up on the outskirts of Barnard Castle town. We did not visit the castle. We did not walk around the town. We parked by a river. My wife and I discussed the situation. We agreed that I could drive safely, we should turn around, go home. “

Can you point me to the part of the lockdown info that says "Do not travel outwith your local area unless you need to test whether or not you're good to drive a longer distance"?

Also full disclosure, my main reason for hoping Cummings gone is not because of lockdown/covid stuff - it's because he's probably the most toxic and sinister entity in British politics for decades. Probably longer. He is a whispering snake and he has an influence over the current prime minister that is not even vaguely anything like normal. Everyone should want him gone, immediately, no matter their political allegiance, no matter what they think of his recent actions. Of course - for exactly the same reason - I know he's going nowhere, and the government response to this incident is clear proof of that.

Whats new Zizu, the press always do this Chinese whispers thing, sensationalism sells to some, he obviously didnt travel there JUST to test his eyesight, but it sounds like a good stance to take so people can dig the knives in even further, its all so ridiculous now and not really worth debating about,as you can see people just don't like him so will lap all the crap up.
