I have no complaints about Ronnie and Roxy's departure but I actually thought this as I was watching the New Years episode... it would've been a lot better and would've felt a lot more natural and would have had more of an effect after Mick basically told him to top himself.

Pretty much like early episodes it was less dram driven back then thats why i enjoyed watching a lot of the episodes

Wait idk I'm being bias he's probably good for the show in some senses (the fact he's clearly mad and isn't afraid to do what he wants could be good) but I'll never get over R & R's treatment. The fact they died unnecessarily and YEARS and YEARS before their time is tragic.

He has got a lot of things right but has made mistakes that i am sure he will learn from

It's just annoying that producers are allowed to make the same mistakes each and every time. No one ever steps in like 'Don't you think this is a bad idea for down the line?'. The deaths of Angie, Cindy, Kathy, Pauline, Pat and Peggy were all regretted decisions and Ronnie & Roxy will join them. All allowed to be done by different producers I believe too.

And SOC has made his mark by killing off two iconic characters like they were deadwood in a strange Final Destination esque situation just because they represent an era which he doesn't like.

I think it is to show that nobody is safe and you have to earn your place on merit not history

They weren't given anything to show merit since early 2015.

Later, the two sisters get drunk after a happy day and wander the church courtyard, discussing their time in the square and the start of a new era. Eventually they visit the swimming pool. Roxy jumps in, but soon sinks to the bottom motionless. Ronnie jumps in to rescue her, but is tangled amongst her wedding dress and drowns alongside her sister.
