I think you have to be on 24/7 and also have been following the celeb version, which I did not when they had it.
Also age does not matter, as I have been on TIBB since a group of us defected to it from Talk Big Brother in 2001 and I am not a mod, (And yes it says I joined in 2002, but thta date is wrong because many years ago there was a serious problem with TIBB and we all had to re-register or something like that). I vaugely remember being told that I was not considered because I did not watch the celeb version, but that was many years ago and I can not remember who by. My understanding is that you are invited by the forum admins to be a mod, after they deem you worthy. Asking to be a mod automatically disqualifies you from what I can tell. I was invited to be a mod, but not here, and now I am a mod on another forum and it was by invitation of one of the co-founders of the forum.

When the admins decide they need staff, they'll post a thread asking for people to apply. I assume they select people who seem responsible, are active and aren't complete power-freaks who'll abuse it.
I can't see there being any new mods yet because they only made me, Princess +Zee mods just over a month ago or so, and we're fairly active (alongside 30stone/Vicky)
