The House returning
The 24hr Live Feed returning + multiple cameras
BBLB Returning
Prize Fund changing
Desmond wanting to return to the 'roots' of the show

Personally I think all that news is great.

Any other 'news' has just been The Daily Star trying to create silly hype for the show by talking about potential housemates, that won't even enter the house anyway.

Since then Channel 4 just wanted rid of it.

I feel sorry for the people auditioning for it, Channel 5 don't have the funds like C4 did. Plus like someone else said, who actually watches Channel 5? It's ratings are always lacklustre. It's going to look cheap and the tasks will be crap. It's funny how people think C5 will end up luring big names for the Celeb Version, they blew their budget on buying the show. I can see them sticking with the silly gimics from BB11 too, like music on evictions and getting the housemates to perform for the crowd. Just let it die already.

You're right about CBB, that's why they should just ******ing ditch the whole CBB8 Launch in Summer and just start with BB12, no one actually cares about Celebrity Big Brother.

It's the return of Big Brother, no one is anticipating the return of CBB.

And no one watches Channel 5 because for years Channel 5 has had an owner who didn't care about it, put on horrible shows that 4 people watched.

CBB actually got more ratings than BB especially in later years so I can see why they want to show that one first. The z-listers will be worse than normal though, because Channel 5 don't have the money to pull in any big names.

Also I hate how the normal BB will air so soon after CBB, it's BB overload. Just too much of it and I don't think viewers will appreciate that. They should have waited longer to launch the normal one than put it on straight after CBB.

Hasn't the owner been in charge for a while now though? I see no major change in Channel 5's ratings since his reign.

A lot of people said goobye to BB last year though. They even had a funeral for it. This idea of bringing it back could totally backfire on them, people these days are more interested in talent reality shows and the interest for BB has declined. It'll probably start off with good ratings initially but I doubt it'll be able to maintain them. If C4 couldn't, Channel 5 doesn't stand a chance.

Daily Star? The reputation of that paper has never been good and having BB plasted over it's front cover on a daily basis won't change that. The Sun is the UK's best selling newspaper and I can't see it giving C5's BB much coverage since it didn't with BB10/BB11. I doubt it will get promo through billboards/TV ads neither which would have helped a huge amount.

Still, I do hope it does well because I've always liked the show but my expectations for it aren't very high.

Not all of us auditioning want there to be millions of viewers. I want the experience. PERIOD!

In fact im slightly worried there would be millions and millions of viewers!!!

And Channel 5 HAVE the funds.

They have all the means for great tasks and a great house.

Oh and btw they had music on evictions in BB2 aswell so its not just a new cheesy gimmick.

It is good news so far and especially anytime I hear 'return to roots'.
The law of diminishing returns worries me when I see it scheduled to return this Summer (even if later).
It makes me think a quick money-grabber is being thrown to squeeze the fastest 'diminishing return' as possible,

There is this attitude in the UK which has it that BB is a type of program where people who want attention try and beg for it.

And you can blame BB itself for fueling that, picking that type and even juicing them up for it,

you are right that for a lot of people this is about a fascinating, difficult, surreal, emotional and psychological test. They want the challenge to shyness or fear of public exposure.

I enjoyed BB MUCH MORE when that was actually the sort of central 'theme' or 'test' of the whole thing - can ordinary folks even tolerate fame and notoriety?
Will they crack from the pressure? Shrink? Come out of their shells? Is it even fair or 'moral' to watch them?
Admire them for giving up all privacy?

But if you mention BB in the UK you probably get the response "Oh ya a bunch of undeserving fame-seeker wannabe etc etc"

But again.. maybe BB is to blame for that when they make a point of finding those.
