I got a couple of gold nuggets here. One is a parody of a popular comic strip in the states about a boy who imagines his toy tiger is real and the other is a Flintstones cigarette commercial (it's a real commercial from decades ago, if there was any doubt).

Good god... I never realised that cig were being advertised by childrens cartoon characters. That is shocking beyond belief.

Why is it so shocking that they would use cartoon characters? They use cartoon characters all the time today to get kids to eat the most unhealthy **** you could imagine.

If you honestly have to ask why promoting cigarette smoking via childrens cartoon characters is a world away from them being used to promote foods/sweets...then there is absolutely no point in taking this any further with you.

If you don't think it's theoretically possible for a smoker to live a healthier lifestyle than a non-smoker, you might step back and realize that there are dozens of things people do every day that are legal yet arguably more damaging to your health than smoking cigarettes. Cigarettes will give you cancer in certain areas yet junk food will not only give you cancer but diabetes and obesity among other things. BTW, I'm not a smoker. Save once, I've never smoked a cigarette in my entire life.

I think you need to study more on the dangers of smoking and it's effects on the body. Starting with the lips, throat, lungs and all manner of lung related diseases, heart, skin, veins, dvt, thrombosis,.... just for starters.

There are very few things more harmful in every possible way, but hey; don't take my word for it: have a little bit more research.

Consider this: Today there is far more awareness to the dangers of cigarettes than at any other time in human history yet we are sicker and more unhealthy today than at any other time in our history. Obesity. Diabetes. Cancer. You can't blame that on cigarettes. Half of our populations are overweight because they eat the junk food they see on the teli and they don't get the exercise they need because they're watching the teli. I think a very strong argument can be made that televisions are more dangerous than cigarettes.

This is going well off topic. I made an innocent comment on your random video clip - If you want to debate about this... better maybe raising a thread specifically for that and allow the thread to be what it's here for......

Random video clips!

I figure that a show like this would have difficulty making it past the censores. Too bad, though, because it was a very creative show.
