They aren't really bullies but ****** me neither was Denise.

Josie just picked on people for ****** all, and was an utter vile human to everybody.

Ulrika was the same to the men of the house.

So yeah they aren't bullies, that word is being thrown about loosely in this thread, Nadia is the only Bully.
But I mean Denise is hardly a bully? She's an old lady.

Got to disagree. She's a drunken mess, with severe mental and emotional issues. As she was already known for before BB anyway. But to call her a bully is pathetic.

A bully uses superior strength (either physical or emotional) to intimidate or belittle those weaker than them. I didn't see the twins or Michael affected by her in any serious way at all. They held their own extremely well and showed how strong they are.

That's not to say her behaviour was acceptable, it wasn't. But a bully? No.
She's a mess.

Yes, there are many xenophobic Britons, just as there are many xenophobic people in all the other countries of the world. But to talk of it as though it's become some epidemic or serious issue is ridiculous.
Not to mention this is a tiny unimportant reality show anyway, who cares who wins. Does it matter? They all get their varied paychecks at the end anyway.

I have nothing against Americans at all, my favourite tv shows are American etc. But, bar Jermaine and Latoya I've not liked a single American BB housemate. So, maybe BB should get some different American people rather than the same playboy bimbos and plastic has-beens.
I wasn't saying they were but there are a lot of xenophobes on both forums. You just have to look at Facebook and there you'll find at least a dozen or so more xenophobes in the comment boxes, calling the Americans "yanks" at every opportunity. I saw loads of accusations that American viewers were cheating the system last night, using fake IP addresses to vote etc. on a few of the videos because the xenophobes couldn't accept that British people might like the American housemates and want them to win.

Lots of people in the UK hold the closed minded view that it's a British show, only a British housemate should win. More of the general public hold this view than I suspected which is a real shame. We will never see an American housemate win a show like this.

As I was saying though, these facebook, DS, forumers are a small number of people in actuality. If you look at the discussion for any tv show, celebrity, actor etc you'll find a lot of venom and unnecessary hate. That is the internet.

To suggest it represents the viewing public I find ridiculous.
Just because Denise won, doesn't mean the voting public agree. There is more of a chance of a British celeb winning because the majority of them are British. That's a fact.

Plus, if the general consensus of a forum represented the voters then Denise would definitely have been the first to leave tonight. She's been nothing but slated on DS.

I can kind of see your point but there is a lot of unnecessary, nasty and completely pathetic hatred thrown towards ALL the housemates if you have a good look around. To cut out a portion of them that are anti-American and suggest it represents a larger portion of our country is just silly.

The twins and Michael would never have made it to the final if that were the case.

As for the conspiracies on certain people hacking the voting system and using fake IPs etc, well that's the nature of the sore losers on the internet. If they don't like a result it's automatically a fix. lol

It was mostly a joke, but I do think that InOne has a point with the passive aggressive stuff.

There are hundreds of thousands of BB fans on Facebook writing xenophobic stuff on Facebook and these comments are getting loads of likes. I find that disturbing.

I wasn't suggesting it represents the whole viewing public, but there are a small alebit loud minority of people who will hate the Americans regardless of their character traits.

Maybe there is but the hate that is most prominent on the web is the hate towards the Americans. It was a big shock to me that both made the final but I knew none would ever win as much as I'd like them too. Never will an American win. So many people hold the view like I previously mentioned that a British housemate should win because it's a British show and only a person of British nationality deserves to win. Such a ridiculous view to hold but more people do than I first suspected.

It was actually his hand. But who likes sticking to facts when hyperbole is so much more enjoyable!

But anyone who thinks Denise has bullied anyone this series, needs to re-watch. Funny stuff this thread.

Hundreds of thousands? Doubt it.

Whilst I see where you're coming from I don't think these kinds of "haters" have any bearing on the show in any major degree. Like I said before you get these kinds of loud mouthed keyboard spewers everywhere for every show and celeb you could search on the web.

She totally had control of that house. I'm pretty sure most people went with her because they were worried of her wrath, which was shown on this years "fight night" she held nothing back.

When I think about it, last night a comment of mine was removed after I told them all how ****ing idiotic and delusional they all were for supporting such crap housemates and spouting their ill-informed bile, and yet hundreds and hundreds of these blatantly xenophobic comments have been left up for all to see. Speaks volumes really. I find that even more disturbing. And laughable.

Yeah I've seen people posting comments in favour of the twins and Michael on there before only to come back later and find them all gone. It's just sickening but I can only see this situation getting worse. People are becoming more ignorant and I don't think the whole "only British housemates should win, we live in Britain, we need a British winner for a British TV show" attitude will be going anywhere aanytime soon.

Did you not see the twins wrath? In no way were they afraid to kick off when they wanted. Nicola? When she disagreed with Denise, she opened her mouth and joined in and stood her ground in the argument. To suggest they were all cowering with fear to open their mouths to her is pure exaggeration and ignorance of all the facts.
Even Michael, he told her where to go when she annoyed him, he took none of her crap.

So, how exactly did she have control? To go as far as "bully" is a stretch.

Scary really. It's not a form of discrimination that I feel has been dealt with properly yet. Racism, well...not too much of that anymore, if if there is people are severely looked down upon for it. The tide is turning with regards to homophobia as well, it's going the same way as racism thankfully. But it doesn't seem like anyone cares about xenophobia yet...people are just allowed to make whatever discriminatory, offensive comments about other nations they like without any repercussions. It's not good at all.

Denise started it with the sympathy thing against Michael. That's when she got most onside. She didn't count Nat going, and when Nicola went to the twins it proved an even bigger problem. She used a combination of manipulation and pure spite for the twins to get Nicola back onside, even if it meant destroying her on TV. Nicola still went back to her after the realisation that Denise didn't hold anything back. She still had the guys though as well, who had now seen her wrath and her "vunerable" side, so they will've been confused. Rather than stick up for the alien American's they thought to go with the motherly "one of us" Denise type, who could clearly never be wrong because she was "only having a laugh". Michael was the only man in that house, the rest were little boys. They were all basically sticking to the one who'd make them look best on the outside.

Yeah it's a growing problem in the UK which I don't feel is taken serious enough. The way that people are allowed to get away with xenophobic comments on the official Big Brother Facebook page is disgusting and extremely worrying for the future of our country.

I wouldn't call Denise a bully. Far from it. She seems quite nice in her own way. Overall, I think she's not a bad person at all.

But what I'm slightly dissapointed at, is that many of the public obviously see her behaviour as laudible. For many years us Irish have had the 'drunken' stereotype hanging over our heads. In recent years you Brits have joined us. And if modern TV is anything to go by, it seems niether nation is any closer to growing the f34k up.

In this series you had Brits who misbehaved whilst under the influence. Americans who streneously objected to that behaviour. And it seems that the majority of the British and Irish public thought the American's over-reacted and were consequently less likelable than the boozed up 'jokers.'

Denise is a nice woman. In many ways she is a far more caring and vulnerable person than the twins or Michael. I'm not surprised that people like her. But it saddens me that so many will re-enforce her thinking that the coolest way to get down with the kids and enjoy oneself, is to drink excessively, undress yourself and others, and condone sexual harrassment as something which is funny.

Just be yourself Denise. There's no need to get down with the kids. You're 53 - there's nothing wrong with being 53.

I agree. I cannot comprehend the overwhelming levels of ignorance and sheer stupidity displayed by the large majority of the people on that Facebook page and some of the members of this forum.
