This thread piqued my interest, so I actually watched the first one last night.

It's a slow film, that's creepy, but it isn't really torture porn. There is no gratuitous violence or anything like that.

You don't really see anything stomach churning at all, no scenes of anyone being joined together, and everything is covered by bandages afterwards.

So whilst this film is bad, it's not bad in the way that many people who haven't seen it would think.

I hate stuff like this, I hate horror gore or violence. In film or game format i am sure it leads to a degree of desensitisation.

I haven't watched any of them (tbh just reading the idea of it made me feel sick for days) but from what I heard the second was far worse and much more on the torture porn road than the first, It was even banned in the UK (I think it was unbanned later though after removing some particularly bad scenes

The first one isnt really that bad, in a way its quite well done. The second on from what I hear is like "LOL! BARBED WIRE RAPE WHILE BEING FORCE FED **** AND MASTURBATING WITH SANDPAPER! LOL!" And nothing in that 'quoted' sentence is made up.

not to mention the woman trying to escape, then giving birth, and killing her own baby to escape... her baby was under the pedal, and she stepped on the pedal crushing her baby's skull,, that was pretty amazing./

I did actually watch the first 2 minutes of the second one last night, before asking myself, "I've just sat through an hour and a half of this ****, why would I want to sit through another hour and a half?"

I might watch the second one later. I'll report my learnings.

My point is, that sort of 'horror' isnt only wierd, but it's uncreative, the horror is created through shock tactics. The horror in the first film is totally psychological, and more deep.

i agree the motivation was shock, but it was shocking, so technically it was successful...

I don't think I have to worry about an infraction for harassing you. I think replying to someones post is perfectly allowed on here, especially when raising concerns about the content.

not a fan of A Serbian Film, it's too over the top, that it becomes comical and you end up laughing at half the stuff in the film

i was obviously referring to A Serbian Film which is equally as shocking. If you havn't seen it, i recommend it. It's in the same vein.
