I've pretty much started topics and all the main ones before. It would just be repeating and they'd probably only go to like 2 pages these days anyway. It all went downhill when it was merged with news.

Yeah most serious debates thread seem to just be about religion or about crimes like murder, paedophilia etc. which normally end up in big arguments about the death penalty and stuff

I used to like the Religious ones back in the day, but now everything just seems to be on the extreme end of the scale. Horrendous crimes and stuff for people to get outraged about.

Yes there are a lot of the 'morality' threads I steer clear for the most part. I like social issues, they nearly always turn political though. Your threads last a couple of pages?...Mine go on and on forever!

My threads? I don't make them very often, last one was about the Egyptian football violence and only got 4 replies it'd be good to have more threads on world news, get making some kizzy

I actually think pyramid made some good points.

I didnt read it at the time but just read through it all now, and all she was wanting to know was why there was any need for a list when apparently everyone was welcome to post in there :S

Most serious debates that aren't paedophile/religion based turn into long, rambling threads about how awful the Tories are. Very tedious... and not really what I understand the word "debate" to mean. This place has certainly changed... and it's a shame.

Its a shame kate had a brill idea there and it would have worked too, if I remember she suggested a topic was posted and members had to request to join to debate that point?..
It would save some jumping into an issue with a totally random load of rubbish that has nothing to do with the issue.
