BB needs a range of HMs but people need to be there on merit, not age - and the older the more entertaining they need to be. 21-45 is the ideal age for BB HMs - a good range of ages which reflects the audience watching.
I agree. Looking back on past series' of Big Brother, the best ones had a range in ages. In BB5 everyone was between 21-45 and thats one of the best series' to date. The older housemates also usually had a story to tell too and that showed in their personality, e.g. Derek from BB6 was a british lobbyist and was speechwriter for Margaret Thatcher.

It makes for better TV when each individual housemate comes from a range of backgrounds and places in the UK, is entertaining in their own way and are from a range of social classes.

They should get a grumpy old politically incorrect man in there. Like a Prince Phillip type. They've never had a much older man on civilian BBUK. Derek was the closest thing, but he wasn't THAT old, and he was more the gay stereotype as oppossed to the old british man stereotype.

you can't really use BB8 as an example. The entire show was ruined by Chantelle and Ziggy's pathetic showmance. I don't blame the older cast members for BB8's failure, I blame Chantelle, Ziggy, and the Producers who were convinced we gave a **** about them.

Hopefully it's untrue.

Last year's series was fantastic, they need to keep the same formula.

Exactly.

Too much oldies will ruin the series.

this is exciting! big brother has been full of wannabees ever since BB7, so if they go back to basics it could be the best thing

I'm OK with fewer 19-24's and more 29-34's. Producers certainly aren't going to bring in geezers.
And if I want a tit parade, I can just flip through Nuts.

They'd be foolish to change the formula after it worked so well last series.

It didn't work so well last series though as it still had less viewers than any of Ch4's Big Brother's.

Lets be realistic. Anyone applying to be in the BB house is a "Wannabee". They wannabee seen. They wannabee heard. They wannabee understood. They wannabee loved or in some cases they wannabee hated.

On BB you cannot escape from seeing wannabees.....That's just a fact of life......

The easy way to escape from wannabees it to up the prize and get people in the show for the money rather than the fame. If they're willing to throw hundreds of thousands of pounds at Z-list celebrities for a 3 week run of Celebrity Big Brother (now twice a year) they should be willing to up the cash to at least £250,000. Scrap the August celeb BB and they could probably up it to £500,000 from the money saved on celeb fees.
