The name of the show doesn't appear in the titles anyway, just the eye, only the spin-offs get name checked.

'Hell Lies In Others' was more the equivalent of '#WHATSTHESECRET', it was a teaser slogan for the advertising, not the series title, this is different, the series is actually named and will be billed as 'Big Brother: Secrets & Lies' (like here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtxSt7JGdfY) one was used as the working title to the most recent BBAUS (Big Brother: Secrets) and shows and films do it all the time. It won't, as some of the over cautious here have voice concerns about, define the show, just reflect the series big theme. Why they've not done it before now (it's been suggested a few times), and why so many find it so hard to get their heads around I don't know (It's ridiculously simple. Same show, different series identifier, instead of "Welcome to Big Brother 2013", "Welcome to Big Brother: Secrets & Lies"), it's not permanent, it'll either change to something else for next year or be dropped completely, it's just an interesting and catchy series title based around the twist to mark out this year's series as slightly different.

Good move, might grab channel-flick attention, rather than people seeing just 'Big Brother' and thinking ugh. Need to make sure the series twist is decent mind and not let it flop.

Tbqh, that's exactly what the show needs.

Not necessarily a gimmicky twist, but an overhaul of the format. Keep the fundamentals in place otherwise it wouldn't be Big Brother but give it a big makeover.

And as others have said, the change in title may attract fans who abandoned the show.

It's not unusual with reality shows and nothing new at all. Survivor has always had sub titles since the second season - usually the location but increasingly game related, while Big Brother itself spun off into Big Brother: The Battle after just a couple of series, although the title wasn't used on screen or in listings here.

I think it is good to bill it as BB: Secret and Lies in listings and on the EPG as it will grab peoples attention, suggesting BB has changed so it might be worth checking out. Also hope they use it on screen - I've always found it kind of arrogant how they only use the logo for the main show.
