Well, the left hall leads to the brand new...
Nominations Room ![]() More pics: Spoiler: Obviously I've shamelessly nicked this from Big Brother Australia, but if I were executive producer, this is how I'd work it: Every Monday, a live show takes place on Channel 5 in which housemates will be called to the Nominations Room to make their nominations for the week. They will have five points to split between their two nominees, and the three nominees with the most points face eviction. One by one, when instructed, housemates will step forward and enter the soundproof booth to nominate. Unlike the BBAU chamber, it is not see-through - the rest of the housemates will instead be looking at themselves in the giant mirror. When in the booth, housemates will have a limited time to make each nomination. They must clearly state whom they are nominating, how many points for, and their reason for that nomination. Big Brother will not accept paltry reasons, e.g. 'they're missing their family', 'they don't want to be here any more'. Once a nomination is accepted, the chair of the housemate that was nominated will light up in red. They'll be able to see this in the mirror - and because it's see-through on the other side, the camera will be able to catch their reaction while remaining focused on the nominator. However, each time housemates fail to satisfy Big Brother with their nominations, they will receive a penalty nomination point themselves. Once all the nominations are complete, Big Brother will confirm who faces eviction and light up their chairs. Housemates will then be allowed to remain in the nominations room for up to half an hour - covered with live feed on 5* - where they will be allowed to discuss what happened during that night's nominations. They won't be allowed to discuss or influence future nominations. If housemates wish to leave the nominations room before Big Brother kicks them out, they can - but once they're out the door they cannot discuss nominations at all. |

Now we've seen the main house, it's time to head out to the...
Garden ![]() More pics: Spoiler: The plush hotel-like house overlooks a colourful yet calm beach-themed garden, which is adorned with shots of waves and lined with huge palm trees. Housemates can make a splash in the pool or relax on the plastic loungers, which are situated in front of an angled wall resembling a massive beach umbrella. Of course, it wouldn't be a beach without some sand, so there's a big sandpit for mucking around in. The group can entertain themselves with the inflatable balls and the bucket and spade - and if they dig deep enough, they may just find that Big Brother has buried some treasure... |

The housemates may have a pool and sandpit to play with, but there's even more luxury on offer if they're willing to work for it.
Every weekend, they'll be woken up early for a strenuous 24-hour luxury task that will start at Saturday at 8am and finish on Sunday at 8am. If they pass this task, they'll win access to the luxury areas of the house for the next week. This includes the dressing area in the bedroom - luxury tasks must be won for the hairdryers and straighteners to be turned on - as well as three areas in the garden, starting with the... Bar ![]() More pics: Spoiler: This year, winning the luxury tasks will be the housemates' only way of guaranteeing themselves a supply of booze for the week, as it will not be available on the shopping list. The bar contains two fridges full of drink - which will be restocked at Big Brother's discretion - as well as barbecue meats which the housemates can cook on the fully-featured BBQ outside. In addition, for the first time, there's also a touchscreen jukebox which housemates can use to play the music of their choice whenever Big Brother switches it on. Finally, it's the...
Gym and Spa ![]() More pics: Spoiler: Winning the weekly luxury tasks will also give housemates access to the serene, sand-coloured gym and spa room. On the right is the gym, where they can work up a sweat with the treadmill, exercise bikes, cross trainer, rowing machine, rack of weights and exercise mats. It even comes complete with a drinking fountain where they can top up their water bottles. When they're done working out they can head to the spa side on the left and relax in the bubbly jacuzzi tub, or enjoy a steam in the sauna. Full floorplan: ![]() That's it for now - I'll probably get round to doing a celebrity version at some point

Thats actually a great idea. Would be a brilliant way to guarantee some drama and tension within the house.

This year Big Brother is getting tough on the housemates with two clear systems of punishment.
For serious rule breaks, such as unacceptable behaviour or talking about nominations, they'll be given a strike. Three strikes and they're out. But for less serious rule breaks, such as not wearing microphones or tampering with furniture, Big Brother will sentence them to time in the brand new... Prison ![]() More pics: Spoiler: Yes, the prison is back. It's hard, it's harsh, and unlike jails in previous series, it's entirely self contained, with a toilet, shower, and smoking bench should Big Brother feel generous enough to give the inmates cigarettes. Make no mistake, they will not be let out every few hours for a breather. Inmates will live in the cell, sleeping in hard camp beds with stick-thin mattresses and scratchy sheets. They will be served portions of slop to eat three times a day, and they will have access to unlimited drinking water at the water fountain next to the toilet. Outside in the yard they'll find the freezing cold shower, and a single gym mat for them to exercise on. While living in the prison, inmates must wear standard issue orange jumpsuits at all times except when showering or sleeping. If they must enter the house for a non-emergency reason - such as nominations or evictions - they may only do so while wearing shackles. If an housemate faces eviction while in prison, they will leave the house in their jumpsuit - Big Brother will nominate another housemate to pack their bags for them. Housemates are strictly forbidden from passing inmates food or other supplies through the bars in the yard. Failure to comply will result in all food being removed from the house and replaced with slop. During shopping tasks, inmates will be set their own individual challenges relating to that task. For instance, in the most recent Celebrity series, they could have been asked to write 'Pass' and 'Fail' on 1,000 balls for the odds task, or create 200 posters for the Dictator task. Inmates must complete these challenges, or they will automatically fail the shopping task for the whole house. Other menial tasks may be set from time to time. Inmates can be released from prison in either of the following ways:

The shackles might be going a bit far but love them doing menial tasks as part of the main task - that works really well. Also like the idea of bail.

One of the most detailed and unique tibb projects in a looong time Matt. Love the theme in the garden and it would be nice to see a series actually make proper use of the jail.

The best use of a "jail" I've seen in any BB series was BB7 Germany when after repeated rule breaks BB installed a metal cage in the living area which three of the rule breakers had to live in for a good few days I think. They were only let out I think to use the bathroom or diary room and I think just bringing it into the house for a few days as a short sharp shock rather than having it in the corner of the garden largely unused was much more effective.

Right here goes, my review-
Dislike the kitchen, just don't like the colours or set up of it- boring and basic. The lounge needs to be more vibrant in colours etc, but I do like the levels- it's nice it's down a bit, setting it apart from the rest of the house! The dining room is pretty much the same as the kitchen and I must be honest if we got that as a house I'd be so underwhelmed! The bedroom however is very nice, warmer colours and looks grander. It is however very samey to what we've had on C5 for the last two series. The bathroom is by far the best room in the house so far- a true work of art I love the design of it all, even having urinals- brilliant- adore this room- the storage facilities are great too! Love the lobby design also- that gif is great, really shows what sort of direction you were going for with it! Amazing that one goes to the diary room and the other unknown which I find extremely intriguing. I like the wall texture of the entrance but yeah still very samey to C5 stuff and I now hate open plan staircases! Meh- the nominations room is cool, but at the start of BBAUS 9 I was like WOW this is a great idea, but it didn't really work, like it never made anything awkward or anything it just felt weird. Dislike it but do like the design with the chair layout you've gone for. You know what I said about the bathroom being my favourite room? Well I lied- the garden is impeccable! Love the theme to it, shame you haven't lead a theme throughout the whole house of the beach theme. The sand area and beach-houses are awesome! Here comes the prison- best idea yet. Love it. I'd love to see this actually be done in Big Brother, I mean a Prison was done in BB9 and 10 but not very well, BB7's was amazing but in a separate room- your open plan one looks visually stunning and would provide some amazing tv moments. Overall- 6.5/10 Highlights- The Garden/Prison/Bathroom Low-points- Kitchen/Dining Area/Bedroom Summary- Some fantastic ideas really coming through here especially in the garden, would be better if the theme span throughout the whole house, let down by the boring kitchen and dining area. Personal highlight being the prison! Well done!

Picking up on these points - I'll admit to rushing the lobby, so I'm surprised/pleased you like it. And I'm a huge fan of the AU nominations room - it made nominations feel like event television - but agree that it could have been a bit more awkward, so I thought housemates finding out who nommed who and being able to discuss it afterwards would ramp up the drama a bit. Ooh, like the bar. Not so sure about the 8am wake ups though - yes it's annoying for HMs and forces them to work for their luxuries, but viewers want the HMs to stay up late at the weekends especially, so a noon to noon challenge might be best.

Good stuff Matt - great to see a finished project from you. You've also made the house feel big, and the garden especially, when it's clearly actually basically the same footprint as most recent houses.
It does seem fairly celeb proof already. The pool could be enclosed for winter I guess, but not absolutely necessary. I think it would be a case of perhaps repurposing the prison for some other twist and probably a bit of a paint job in the main house - be interesting to see how the kitchen and lounge looked with a different colour scheme.

So, as previously stated I've been working on some tweaks for what would be a Celebrity version of this house. As before, the house is loosely based on a plush hotel - but to match the winter setting of the series the beach theme has been switched for a city theme.
First up it's the... Bathroom Before: ![]() After: ![]() More pics: Spoiler: As we're all aware, celebrities like privacy in the bathroom - but this year, Big Brother isn't going to give them it for free. After all, I'm A Celebrity contestants have to shower in the open - so why shouldn't they do so on Big Brother? Therefore, this year's Celebrity bathroom comes with a fiendish twist. The housemates can still choose to wash theirselves away from prying eyes if they want - as long as they can put up with icy cold water. However, there's also a steaming hot shower available, if they're happy with showing off their bits to the viewers at home. Of course, they'll also be bearing all to the housemates, as the hot shower is just as open as the old civilian shower - visible from as far away as the garden. To separate the new showers, the bathroom is now dominated by a glass brick wall - coloured in a blue to orange gradient to represent their temperatures.
