To me it's just a drink.. Main meal if the day is called dinner..
... Although if I went for afternoon tea I'd expect tea with sandwiches, scones and treats.

And cheese on toast done under the grill is most definitely called "roasted cheese on toast"

Cheese on toast is just that, slices of cheese sat on toast...
Roasted Cheese is a slice of toast with cheese on top of it actually roasted under the grill, so it's roasted cheese or bubbly cheese as my nephew calls it. |

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Tea is a meal you have in the early evening if you're not having dinner. That's my take on it, anyway.

We just call them toasted cheese.
That's not what my thread is about though, stay on topic, calling a meal tea is silly. It's like saying "orange juice" instead of "morning".

Your tea is your meal at night, its also a beverage that should not be drunk after 4pm
