The italicised Jim Davidson suggests that's exactly what he's referring to, Jim's past. People's pasts shouldn't define the rest of their lives, and especially not when the person we're discussing (Jim) hasn't beaten anyone up or lost his temper with anyone in the house, despite all the wife beater comments and people overanalysing who he has nominated.

Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin were once at war with each other. Jim might have been the lowest kind of arsehole scum in the past but it is Linda who is making herself look bad now in the present day and time, not Jim. Does getting bullied and then going on to bully someone else make you look good, feel better or change how you felt when you were getting bullied? No. It doesn't. Linda needs to let go of her anger. Jim clearly has. You might think this is a ridiculous post but I've tried to reasonably explain why Jim has so much support to so many of you who have repeated these same points and nobody appears to want to listen.

She may have a deep seated dislike of jim, but he's not that hot on her either...
It's ruining the experience for both of them, it only really flares when they've had a bevvy, maybe hitler and stalin should try staying sober?

My point was that our perceptions of people and events can and should change over time as we're presented with new information. Being stuck in the past can only harm us and that doesn't help us to move on. Jim isn't stuck in the past, Linda very much is.

I think they are borh very bitter about the past, in their shared experience there was obviously something very painful and the fallout from that is what we are seeing now.
It's unfair to lay all the blame at lindas door though, as it doesn't explain jims attitude towards luisa or liz does it?
He also rounded on casey who was one of his biggest supporters.
This might be why some feel jim is not all he presents himself to be.
