Opinion works both ways, it's not a one way street of an excuse to stop anyone else from stating their opinion about what you've said.

If you're going to have an incendiary opinion then you need to be prepared to defend it. This is a forum, people's opinions are challenged on a regular basis because challenging people's views is a cornerstone of discussion itself.

That kinda makes her an even worse character though, I think? Yesterday made it painfully clear that she's not only a legitimately awful person but also a pathetic tryhard who has become more of a rehearsed parody of herself over the years. You could see it in her face that she was grinding her gears so hard to come up with what she thought would be the most acerbic response and it was unfunny. I don't think that the twist of Katie having to be nice to people's faces while being super bitchy in the DR is much different from how she would've been naturally. She seems cut from the same cloth as Speidi, where she'll talk a big game in the DR but then back down from confrontation.

I like Chuff, she is entitled to her views and clearly has seen instances where she has got rightly annoyed at perhaps some 'manipulation' of the benefits structure as to claiming.
So from the instances she makes,I accept she is right and respect wholly her views as to them.

From my end however,I myself have seen a different angle,and the problem with Katie Hopkins is she dumps all benefit claimants in the same bag as she does those she rudely calls fat people and any other group of people, usually those at the lower end of the scale of things, who she has a pre-set negative prejudiced view of.

While it is the case, those on benefits have TVs and the like, where they got them is a different thing, they could be from some firm being paid for by weekly payments,they could even come from some local authorities who provide goods at a small or no interest level, if you are on 'certain' benefits.

Or it could be as what a lot of my family do, when some in my family upgrade their 'luxuries' for want of a better word, if they know someone who is struggling and on benefits, then they hand the old goods over to them. free.
It may well be these things are not acquired without assistance from friends and family.

I have however, these last 2 years come across some of the poorest and weakest in society who are struggling and really going along on the bones of their backside due to the heartlessness from this govt as to its welfare reforms.
The number I have come across and helped, and even dealt with leaves me in little doubt from my perspective, they they are the vast majority and certainly not the minority.

Katie Hopkins problem is that she has no compassion or in fact, in my view, real understanding of the situations those who are the poorest and weakest find themselves in.
If organisations and others help to bring some pleasure to such people by helping out with so called 'luxuries' then good, that is really good I say.

There will always be some, who abuse the system, that is inevitable but please, it is not the majority of people and it is certainly not as the picture is that is painted by Katie Hopkins.
She is just someone who uses controversy and discrimination to get attention by being cowardly and getting at the weakest and poorest who she knows cannot fight back against the media publicity she gets against them, and that is publicity she really craves and feeds on too.

A reason for that too, is that employers avoid by all subtle means to in the main take on 'overweight' employees.

Many overweight people do seek work and apply for endless jobs, only to get the thank you for attending letter but on this occasion you have been unsuccessful.

I learned something else I didn't know a few years ago,someone was diagnosed with diabetes, needing insulin, they had to be on a high dose of insulin due to other conditions too.

They found their weight increased considerably, however apparantly insulin can increase weight.
That was the reason.
There are many reasons why people may be overweight and not all are as black and white as to just laziness.

Very often, there may be and indeed likely are other medical reasons for the problem, something else Katie Hopkins would never even consider.

Why do people have this misconception that people on the dole are raking it in from taxes lol

I had to sign on in 2009 when I broke my collarbone and all I got was Ł36 a week and the housing benefit only covered half of my rent thank god I have parents who were willing to help me out.

I cant see how anyone would be happy living off such a small amount and having to have to count pennies and pretty much be stuck at home with absolutely nothing to get out of bed for.

There are people who aspire to be poor and sit on their arse all day but that's just ****ing sad and I cannot believe the majority of dole collectors are people with no drive or ambition.

Saying that Katie still makes me laugh I think shes outrageously funny!

I don't believe for one minute katie believes all what she says to the extent she says, it's all done for effect and attention...which she is clearly getting..

I work in recruitment in a fairly deprived area if Manchester, Salford, and a lot of people who are long term unemployed DO want to work but jobs are sparse plus to earn a decent wage commensurable with the benefits they get is nigh on impossible....a lot of people would be far worse off in a job than not .....that's not their fault it the economy and benefit system they have become entrenched in.

Surely they would be mentally better off though even If they earned less in a job as long as they can afford to pay their bills, rent ect then having a job is the best thing for them.

My advice is if the job doesn't pay as much as your benefits then get in there kiss arse and work your way up the company.

I'm talking long term unemployed though....they have their rents paid, council tax paid etc etc....they would not be able to survive and pay their bills
