I've noticed a few references to 2007 in the documents (that might have been when they'd previously applied for planning permission) so it might be possible that they've just re-used the drawings.

Because house changes are planned 2 years in advance, and maybe with the big house changes this year they will change the exterior at the same time.

I cannot see anything getting changed on the outside though. But we can dream!

It wouldn't make much sense for them to keep the set the same for four years and then change it, would it? Plus, something about contracts or... something.

True but I wonder why they would land an application for a new exterior and not use it. what was channel 4 schedule like with exterior, did they change it every year?

They changed it completely either every year or every other year, with more minor changes (like moving Davina's presenting podium) with each series.

yeah, its the fifth year on Channel 5 so maybe thats why they are changing it: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, first half of 2015. So it would make sense I guess.

BB3 and 4 basically had the same exterior,
BB5 had one of its own,
BB6 and 7 was nearly the same just different colours used,
BB8 had one of its own
BB9 and BB10 had the same layout but the screens were in different places
BB11 had one of its own.

Channel 4 changed their exteriors, every two years, and sometimes even every year.
The thing with Channel 4, is that even when they didn't change it massively, there would always be something different about it. For example, compare BB6 to BB7's exterior. They were the same layout, but they changed little things, which made it different. For example, changed the size of the screens, added walkways to the BB7 stage, and made the circular stage slightly bigger. They also changed the colour of the crowd fences, during BB7.

With Channel 5, it's literally the same every series, that if you saw a picture of a C5 layout, you wouldn't be able to tell which series it was from, unless you looked at the graphics on the eye, or the stage.

Channel 4's exterior changes record:

BB1, BB2, CBB1 - Bow.

BB3, BB4, CBB2 - First set at Elstree.

BB5 - Another massive change. Ground floor door, and permanent stage.

CBB3 - Got rid of the stage, which was present during BB5, and added a screen to the house, and a long walkway.

BB6, BB6, CBB4, CBB5 - Stairs back, and circular stage.

BB8 - Longer walkway, and stage in center of crowd.

BB9, BB10, CBB6 - Back to a BB6/BB7 layout, with oval stage, and screens removed. Smaller crowds. BB10 had a walkway attached and a fence screen, which BB9 did not have.

CBB7 - Eye thing.

BB11 - Circus.

I've found some more interesting bits when searching for all planning permission applications for Elstree Studios.

In their application for 'Temporary permission for a period of up to six years for the erection of building facades, associated structures, areas of hard and soft landscaping and associated works, in connection with the existing use of the site for film and tv production', in the planning statement, they list a number of planning applications that Big Brother production have applied for, the last of which is this:

Gather what you want from this information, but to me it sounds like something is definitely going on.

Yeah it's a little odd, trying to think what theme could be used with gold with the house, maybe a luxurious house? Buts that a little boring. Reminds me a little of CBB13.

They do it for like every CBB.
CBB13 and CBB14 spring to mind.
