I don't get why people are speculating as to what he'd of spent the money on if he'd won it. None of you know for sure what he'd of done with the money so it's a bit ignorant to state "he'd only spend it on his clothes/rapping and none of it would go towards paying off his debt"

Student loans aren't real debt. I'm currently Ł9k in debt if that's the case and not once have I thought 'oh ****' about it. You don't start paying it off till you're earning over Ł21k and a lot of people never pay it off/don't even bother so his point quite frankly was an irrelevant one.

Thank God he didn't press the button in time, he's no longer the bore he once was but no way has he done enough to deserve any money, let alone Ł23k. Jack has.

Student debt isn't the same as regular debt. I'm in a lot of debt (due to my own stupidity, mind) and the pressure to pay it off is entirely different. Cristian hardly has bailiffs knocking on his door for his student loan back.

i do not feel sorry for someone in debt because of his/her stupidity and greed, and overspending, and gambling.

When I tell my daughter if I win the lottery or come into money I will give her a deposit for a house she always says she would be happier if we paid off her 30 plus grand student loan first.
She has to pay a fair chunk of her wages for another ten years yet, the interest will rise again when she gets her next pay rise, and it is now taken into account when applying for a mortgage.
