I wouldn't want a flat-out ban, but a lot more restriction is necessary I think.

I think loud ones should be banned, they disturb the peace and cause loads of problems - I understand people may want their own display but I think they should only be allowed the quiet kind.

As I said before it make a real difference if you stop fireworks being sold to teenagers. They're probably mostly the ones setting them off in the street.

Make it a criminal offence for teenagers to buy them in the first place.

They for sure shouldn't be allowed to be put off past like 10-11 o clock.

it is a common misconception that you can only let fireworks off on or around Guy Fawkes. You can in fact let fireworks off any time of year and any day of the week including Sundays, but you must let them off before 11pm.

Exceptions to the 11pm rule are:

November 5th (Bonfire Night / Guy Fawkes): You can let fireworks off until midnight.
December 31st (New Year’s Eve): You can let fireworks off until 1am.
Diwali (11th November 2015*): You can let fireworks off until 1am.
Chinese New Year (8th February 2016*): You can let fireworks off until 1am.

I agree with your post 100% Kizzy but at the same time causing animals distress that can easily be avoided by controlled firework displays is simply cruel. Those animals don't get a say in all of this. I have held my shaking dogs for hours during this period and it is heartbreaking to see them suffer so much like this.

Most supermarkets ask for ID if you look under 25 so I'm not sure teenagers can be blamed

I've been asked twice already to buy them for teenagers standing outside those supermarkets. I said no.
