Some suggestions do get considered and some get implemented others don't, like we have said to you on many occasions Tom you can't get everything you want all the time.

Why are you aiming that last part just at me? More than one person clearly wants something done, like for instance the homepage getting a facelift, but, as with the like system idea and everything else people actually want, it gets snubbed aside. That's why I'm getting annoyed.

No you're getting annoyed because you cant have what you want when you want it as usual hence you having a mini tantrum in the chat thread about it instead of actually discussing it in here in a civilised manner, the homepage has literally just been updated just because a few people don't like it including yourself you think it should be changed again, all of your posts about suggestions just scream 'I want and want it now'.

Suggestions are always taken on board and James does his best with most of them but there's a lot more that could stop the site declining...

I think this thread proves 'the best' isn't always done. There's been plenty of times members have offered to help out, we have plenty of people on here who are good at making graphics and would be willing to design a new homepage yet they just get brushed off and the biggest change that happens is a few new button icons...

It's also been explained plenty of times that the design is just one part of it, the coding to get that design to work takes a lot of effort due to how customised the forum code is, so even after a design is created James is still the one left with a ton of work, this has been mentioned a lot in previous threads, maybe if someone does create a decent design James will try incorporating it in to the new homepage if it's possible but the website glenn used doesn't design a page that could work with the forum.

I just think it's funny that Glenn, who has no idea what all goes into creating, programming, and running a site... finds a fun way to play around and make a one page design in one night, and all of a sudden, it needs implementing now.
I don't often agree with Josy, but she isn't in the wrong here. This is actually a very user friendly site considering some of the other crap I have seen out there, and how user friendly it is is why I started using in the first place. James has done a great job keeping this place alive imho

Oh come on... I didn't comment before cause I was trying not to be rude, but what Shaun posted is true, it wasn't all that for a design... and a lot of people is an exaggeration. Most, like me didn't say anything.

But speaking from the perspective of a coder... if someone really wants to have input into the design and up keep of this site, they should send their CV with their training or skills to James and have a discussion with him on volunteering their time. Like Josy says... it is obvious most here have no idea what it takes behind the scenes

Idk I think the link in the OP is a little bit basic, sorry Glenn like aside from the eye gif at the top nothing about it really screams out to me "make this official!" or anything :/ I like the links/opening articles in a small window thing though.

But yes- The webpage was unrealistic for people to think it could be implemented, however it doesn't stop the fact that there's huge room for improvement in the design department. Glenn gave an alright example of what that could look like.

I know he doesn't! It looked okay, worked well on mobile (which is what I most wanted) but it was just a shell of a template off WiX or something. I knew he was being unrealistic that's why I said that it'd be silly to make it redirect to his website because it'd be an entirely new website and the only way he could possibly implement it in real life is with the help of CSS code, but as josy said it can't happen.
The thing I was most angry with is that some of us were being called mean because we wanted a new theme and actual changes.

Sometimes change is good but sometimes change bad. People on Digitalspy were asking for an updated look and it's crap now you can't eben comment on articles easily like you used to.

I still like Glenn's design a lot personally but if Josy says it can't be implemented that's fair enough, right?
