Someone on DS pointed out that people like Natalie actually encourage a form of censorship. People feel they can't say things that actually there's nothing wrong with saying.

Natalie admitted herself she didn't catch the whole conversation.

^ I don't think a thread titled "So we can't mention blacks." at bloody DS is a credible source TBH

My two biggest issues with the forum reaction to this is:
1) How can Natalie be playing the race card when it was literally a conversation about racism
2) Regardless of whether or not Natalie overreacted, I definitely see how someone would be annoyed when a conversation turns from "I hate racism" to "I hate being falsely accused of racism." it's kinda self-serving and Not A Good Look

Because there's a big difference between a conversation about racism and being racially offensive, the latter of which Natalie was essentially accusing Jayne of.

Her attempt at talking it over with Jayne later on showed it up for the stupidity it was; she had no interest in hearing what Jayne had to say, resorted to petty insults and talking over her, and had decided to take on the mantle of "Offended" in the hope it'd earn her a few votes. Suffice to say it'll backfire.

I think though, if it's a natural flowing conversation, and not a 'debate' then it's going to veer and not necessarily stick to a specific angle or topic, I mean that's just general conversation. Should they suddenly stop talking once they've all said how much they hate racism? So since those things are linked (the topic of conversation and Jayne's personal experience), it should be perfectly reasonable for a conversation to turn that way without someone being made to feel bad about it. Regardless of Jayne coming from a different angle with her comments, it was still relevant to a general discussion about racism, and so she should feel able to contribute her experiences without being attacked.
