Helen has a lot more influence than any of us though. Obviously it's never ok but I'd say in her case it's worse, she tweeted wishing death on someone who's clearly unstable and suffering/suffered from mental illness knowing they'd see it, and that the people who follow her (and look up to her? ) might copy her and do the same thing, that could actually be really damaging to the person it's aimed it. So why didn't you aim your distain at Adam ? I merely agreed with him,no one in this thread has said it as you know, but you also know that people have said it about housemates in the past,so don't pretend it's not been said about Helen and lots of others,it wasn't a nice thing to say,but neither is it nice said of anyone else.

No, but it appears you're trying to excuse her behaviour by saying that "everyone does it", which is a complete cop-out.

Members don't wish death on HMs all that often, when they do it tends to be enthusiastic new members who aren't aware of the rules regarding OTT hate and even then it's rare.

It's quite worrying that people are justifying what Helen said by trying to project onto other members instead of dealing with the fact that Helen wished death on a mentally ill person.

She isn't mentally ill, and even if she was, why would it be different to say it to a mentally ill person than someone who's not mentally ill?

And that is the same as justifying it since they are saying 'well, everybody does it!' instead of condemning her.

As for your first question, it should be obvious. Mentally ill people are more vulnerable so a vile comment like that is made more deplorable when directed at people who struggle with mental illness.
