Anyway, getting back to adult conversation, what's pissing me off about Shane J is simply his sucking up to Andrew.

He knew Andrew was in the wrong when he went off on his rant at Jonny the other night, you could see it in his face and yet he wouldn't speak up. He's no problem speaking up to anyone else so it's pathetic.

In what world is "having a word" now the same as "having the final word"? You're projecting a bit much and trying to make him out to be something he's not

From recent examples I assume you mean the John thing, which is fair enough IMO because what John said - about straight men constantly being on guard around gay men because they think they might be objectified - is absolutely absurd since it's the way how women are treated 24/7 and you've admitted that yourself today:

I didn't think too much of that conversation between John/Shane because it was fair and calm and resolved, and Shane relayed what was said to (I think) Malika in, again, a fair and calm way. The expectation that none of them should ever talk about each other to other housemates behind their backs is just impossible - and when it's an example as inane and harmless as this it's really a non-starter.

The only other example I can recall of 'Courtney bitching' was about Ginuwine in the nominations discussion and... again... Courtney was 100% correct. Ginuwine shouted over everyone and didn't let Wayne speak at all about saving Amanda (only to then let Shane L talk about why Ashley should stay can't imagine why he allowed that)

I figured the "Courtney the Educator" storyline would begin to grate on some of the British viewers eventually because they don't like being told how to think unless it's by #Sum1British (who's also loud and dated) and the whole "Year of the Woman" frame for the show would inevitably dissipate into the same old tackfest, where Courtney having a discussion about race politics would prompt groans from the audience who just want to watch Jess down a liquified glass of cow brains, but I find it refreshing.

Yes, white supremacy is just negative stereotyping. It doesn't and has never happened. Ok.

You're white, so you're right.

As a straight man, you can also comment that the gay community are overreacting and their struggles aren't real.

What I, find annoying is when people like Shane J, in order to put their point across describe it as educating people.

I am educated to degree level, thank you and can make my own mind up as I see fit.

Educating people to his point of view, in my eyes should be called, informing others of his own choices in this matter, not educating them as the term smacks of those who may not hold the same view or persuasion, being ill educated or not as educated as he is by having a different view.

An issue, which could bring better understanding rather than put the back up of one of the participants before the discussion even begins. No one likes to be preached at or told they are stupid when holding a conversation on a topic where they do not agree.

Oh okay, I get it now, I've been out of practice on this forum.

Some people just arguing with their toenails for the sake of it.

Grand, I've copped it now, I'll ignore it.
