My 2nd dad (my dad's husband) didn't come out til his mid 40s, after 20 years of marriage and two kids, there doesn't have to be a reason for it, sometimes it just takes that long for people to admit it to themselves

I think there was an expose brewing too. Maybe he's had relations with someone or been somewhere that would arouse suspicion and therefore was being blackmailed by someone. It seemed odd that Holly stated the importance of noting "your hand isn't being forced here" because, if anything, that made it seem like it is!

Bless him though. He said he's not looking for same-sex love but I think he's reached a point in his life where he does want it. Why else leave a 27 year marriage if you have no plans to find someone else?

I hate how people are slating him for finally showing courage

Because of my upbringing and my religion I have never been able to be my true self. I havent got the courage to reveal it to anyone and my family would respond a lot more different to what phils did

I would be disowned

Its a bit different as im bi but I have to keep that a secret and I love my wife and kids to bits. So its not the exact same as phils position but I know how he feels

Because as much as I understand that it must have been very difficult for him he chose to bring someone else into his lie without their knowledge (I presume she didn't know) and that's very unfair, what right does he have to do that to someone? Make their whole life a lie just because his was? If I was her I'd be thinking things like, was he disgusted everytime he slept with me etc

Tbh I was thinking Phil was bi aswell, I guess it just doesn't make sense to me that he's suddenly decided to come out gay ,the timing is weird.

No they dont know and I will never reveal it. Because I dont have to. Its not going to affect my marriage or my life I dont need to act on feelings that are in the back of my mind. I can live my life the way im living it. But I understand how phil must have felt having to tell his family

No she doesnt know none of my family do.it may hurt them for no reason because I dont have to act on my feelings so I can keep it a secret...people knew on here though I think

I'm really proud of him and I love how supportive his wife, daughters, and extended family are.

One thing that keeps running through my mind is maybe Phillip came out to Steph before they got married, and they decided to keep it under wraps until now.

I dont plan on acting on it. I have religious reasons but I dont judge anyone as I know people cant help how they feel, I cant help it but I dont have to act on it but I get how it feels to keep a secret from people for so long
