As a matter of interest Zizu, how many people do you know who needed hospitalisation and then went onto die?

I know a few who were hospitalised but came out alive and are doing fine and dandy, and even more who didn't need hospital treatment

I know of a few who died early days but since the roll out I only know if one person who has died of covid.....and they contracted it when in hospital for something unrelated.

I know of a number of people including my brothers father in law and one of my dads buddies who were admitted (dads friend was in icu) but are ok now.

I liberally know (or know of) hundreds of people who had a rough few days but were fine at home

[In the last 24-hours, Scotland
has reported 5,018 new COVID-19
cases - a "sharp rise" on the recent
average of 2,800 a day.

As of 5pm on Thursday, 110 of these
were the new Omicron strain,

There were 9.6 million deaths worldwide in 2018 from cancer

I wonder how many more in 2020/21 given people have struggled to be diagnosed

Given the infection rate of omicron it’s quite possible that half of th m are omicron but why is omicron scary when it is less lethal by any measure than delta?

Cancer is arguably the worst disease out there BUT it isn’t contagious and can’t be reduced by wearing masks etc etc
