I’ll happily flat out say that the only possible excuse for supporting Depp in this is simple misogyny. The excuses made for him are insane. Yes it seems that it was a mutually abusive relationship fuelled by alcohol and drugs, sure, but that doesn’t absolve him of his part and he was twice her age when they got together. Whole thing is a mess and it would be fair enough to simply state that they both behaved horribly and that the relationship was toxic - but to paint him as a victim, her as a liar/evil, and engage with the memes from the courtroom? Flat out witch hunting.

I would say misogyny or people wanting Depp to be the innocent party (which there is none in this scenario as far as I can see from all the stuff that's come out about the case/their relationship) simply because he's Johnny Depp much loved, attractive, quirky in a lovable rogue kind of a way blah blah blah b ut yeah I've seen a lot of comments on social media that are just dripping with misogyny and basically using this case to "prove" that most women are liars when it comes to Domestic Abuse and are evil

Exactly
why didn't she get him help ?? or why didn't she leave him if he was so abusive. I know some couples get in a rut and feel trapped or stay together despite the unhealthy destructive state but this really is something else.

She has no evidence of all the times she said he hit her.
And he has a lot of rings. If he had hit her like she said, it would have done a lot of damage.
