Good for her, Jade Goody made a career of being just as dim without having to be nice either, and Rachel has mastered the art without having to shed any clothes, rather than a fool, I'd say the girl is quite a genius

“I've heard of Tony Blair. I've heard of George Bush. I've never heard of Boris Johnson, if he's done anything that important I'm sure I would know, but I don't.”
I'm sorry, but he has. And you stilll haven't heard of him! By the way, I should clarify that I'm not a fan of Boris Johnson (the Mayor of London, Shadow Home Secretary, Tory MP, newspaper editor and TV presenter who’s rarely out of the national headlines, who’s never “done anything important” and of whom I’ve never heard). I just find it bizarre, cringeworthy and a little scary that one or two of you have never heard of him. As I’ve said before, by admitting that, you’ve revealed unambiguously that you never watch the news or read a newspaper and by not knowing what’s going on, you’re allowing these politicians to con you and get away with murder (literally sometimes!).

When somebody asks me whether I want condiments, as they often do when I eat in a restaurant or pub, I usually reply “Yes please”. Maybe it’s just me but I’ve never found that particularly complicated!

And a fan is not allowed to criticise the people they admire? Should we just follow them blindly and assume they're perfect? Just wondering.

Politics affect every aspect of your life. Good luck with voting. But don't complain to me when it all goes tits up! |

"It is a personal attack, you said he's done something important and I havent."
WHAAAAAAAAT???? I meant you'd never heard of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! I'm sure you've done lots of important things and I meant no disrespect - you've just misunderstood the sentence! I've edited it now if it makes you happy.

I once sat in a restraunt and a friend asked the waitress if she'd send the condiments back to the kitchen.
A few minutes later the chef came out to thank us for the compliments asking if there was anything in particular that impressed us, I said its certainly not the staffs ability to understand WTF we actually said

“It is a personal attack...You know what you meant, don't try and change it” Yes, I do know what I meant. It’s a standard piece of English to respond to two points made with two respective counterpoints. Ask any expert on language. Frankly, though, it’s pretty common and straightforward English. For instance, if you said “If John invites you to his party, will you go?”, I might reply “Well, he hasn’t, so I'm not”. If anything, for you to continue accusing me after I’ve clarified matters and edited for you out of courtesy, AND to imply that I'm a liar, now that IS a personal attack! But I won’t take it to heart! By the way, I'm struggling to understand why, if I’d wanted to “attack” you, I’d have edited it at all!

I said: "He hasnt done anything important" You said: "Yes he has, you havent" I replied: "Why the personal attack?" You replied: "It wasnt" And you're trying to change it, I'm failing to see where your going with your point, but I'll drop it since it's going nowhere. |

“Okay, let me make this clear. I said: ‘He hasnt done anything important’ …"
And you're trying to change it, I'm failing to see where your going with your point, but I'll drop it since it's going nowhere.” OK, let ME make this clear: Now who’s “trying to change it”? You said - and I quote - "if he's done anything that important I'm sure I would know, but I don't." Those were your exact words, NOT "He hasnt done anything important". So I was answering YOUR second point with MY second point. Sorry, but that’s very basic English. I reiterate: if I’d wanted to offend you, I wouldn’t have changed it when you informed me that you didn’t like it. Would I? But instead of thanking me for being courteous and considerate, you’re still attacking me, wrongly accusing me, misquoting me AND calling me a liar. Believe me, if I wanted to insult you, you’d know. But I don’t. Now I'm going to ask politely – please leave me alone now. Goodbye

Why did you phrase it "I'm sorry but he has, you haven't" if you were answering my second point, which was that I've never heard of him? |
