It was acted really good, The character Pat will be a miss in EE but she went out acting at her best. Very believable and really sad too.

We don't know enough about him to care about his past ties and all that, none of them seem convincing so far. Worst of all is the Branning brothers. Completely agree, disgraceful that he was in Pat's last episode let alone taunting her on her deathbed. Horrid character, I hope he is killed off. David totally owned him.

It was a good episode, Derek is just a very meh character. He's far too pantomine to be taken seriously as a villain, he comes off as irksome rather then villainous. The fact he looks like a waxed gnome doesn't help him.

I loved the Janine scene best, so glad they parted on good terms. The line "your the only little girl I've ever had" was so sad. The shot of them hugging too was heartbreaking, they had their ups and downs over the years but Janine truly loved Pat and saw her as a mum. I'm glad Tanya got a scene with Pat too, when she looked at Pat you could tell she was fearing that she would soon end up in the same state. Jo Joyner is a brilliant actress.

Dot scene was nice but I wish it could have been a bit longer. Dot was actually in Pat's first ever scene so it's nice that she was also in Pat's last scene too. Liked the Ian scene too. Glad David returned and although I didn't watch it when he was first in it I really liked his scenes with Pat and his introduction to the kids, too. Shame her other son Simon didn't return but I don't think Kirkwood asked him to return, same with Peggy. The whole episode was just so sad despite it being the best episode of EE in years. The fade to black at the end and then Pat's theme was fitting.

RIP Pat Evans/Wicks/Beale/Butcher and I hope that we see Pam St Clement pop up in Downton's next series, great actress.

Last night's episode was fantasic - very emotional. Simon Ashdown pens a good episode. His episodes are usually most poignant. The Janine seen really got me, it was really really sad. The frame of her cuddling up against Pat in the bed was really upsetting. David was fantastic - Michael French is a great actor, I love him in Casualty - and completely owned Derek. I can't stand him. The Tanya scene was great too. The fact that they made it blend into her story was good. I liked Ian's line, "the last of the old bunch". It's only Ian and Dot who've been there since almost the beginning now.

Charlie Brooks is amazing playing Janine, glad to see some genuine emotion and no nastiness for a change and I actually feel for her.

If Janine goes back to being bad again for the 100th time there is simply no hope for the character as it has been done before, keep a rough edge to the character though..

^ Yeah he does actually and EastEnders need some better male characters as they are lacking in this, some like Tyler, Anthony and Syed in particular have the charisma of a wooden plank.
