I mean, I cringed at some of the things he'd occasionally say but he dominated the season and made it enjoyable to watch. He destroyed everyone in a game sense and in his confessionals... like I said pretty fun to watch.

you couldn't go ANYWHERE in the Survivor internet community in the fall of 2009 without getting a taste of the Russell/Natalie debates, it was unreal. Like, we kinda got like a quarter of the way there after Kaoh Rong but nothing will compare to the aftermath of Samoa.

That's because you can't count out a bitter jury, which is fine, especially because Natalie actually knew what she was doing aligning with Russell so even though I don't think she deserved it over Russell, it depends on the jury and she's a perfectly fine winner. It's actually a kinda funny end to the season as well since Russell always said he'd be guaranteed to win against her.

With that said, Russell still destroyed everyone in the game tho... But doing that doesn't mean he has to win.

It's Russell's fault the jury was bitter since his social game was horrendous whilst Natalie's was good (e.g. she was good friends with Laura's alliance) which is why they voted Natalie over Russell

yeah, if you handpick the jury and they refuse to vote for you to win that really reflects worse on your game than the jury's decision.

Also Samoa could have been a decent season had it not been edited as a fourteen week-long sequel hook to Heroes vs. Villains, for which I'm even bitterer towards Russell

So I usually don't watch the Reunion show (not sure if I should?) but I decided to watch some of it now and Russell is actually kinda pathetic in this. Basically begging/paying to get the title of Sole Survivor.

Although, him throwing Jaison's socks in the fire again...

I'll probably already get started on Heroes vs. Villains soon since I don't have much to do today.

Although I'm overloading on Survivor last night & today so for now I'm just taking a look at the cast... Opposite from the Second Chances season that's supposed to be coming up, they picked waaay better females overall but the males they chose should still be interesting/polarizing enough characters. Hopefully the combinations make for a good season.

Watching the first episode of HvV now and I'm loving this already. The first reward comp was great. Sandra snatching Sugar's bra and Sugar winning anyway and giving her two middle fingers. But oh I was so worried Stephenie was gonna get med-evac'd in the first comp.

Can I just reiterate what a fantastic moment Sue's speech was I re-watched it though, and it wasn't as impactful, but it hit me like a ton of bricks when i first heard it.

Sues speech is iconic but omg it made me hate her for all of ten minutes, my jaw just dropped and I felt the deepest empathy for Kelly, I probably would've burst into tears had someone ripped a strip of me like Sue did.
