The fact that actors don’t necessarily just retire once they hit 65, meaning we get to watch our favourite characters grow old and stay anchoring, legendary characters on the shows (I’m mostly saying this with soaps in-mind) they’re on. There wouldn’t be much Dot Cotton or Ken Barlow (or even much more left of Phil Mitchell) if they just retired as soon as they clocked 65.

Default Little things that make you smile

Sound bars are amazing !!

We recently bought a new LG Tv with all the latest technology/features .. but the super-slim design leaves little room for decent speakers … thank the lawd for our SHARP sound bar ..

When you watch a Cartoon series again out of nostalgia.

It brings back so many memories.

I really liked both.

Although I haven't watched Recess in a very long time.

I used to really like Lloyd In Space too.

On Saturday morning, get yourself comfortable in bed with a good breakfast/cuppa and just binge Recess on YT. I’m sure it’ll be an enjoyable experience for you.

Flavoured electrolyte water-enhancers. A trip to Aldi for them is long-overdue.

Zizu: I’m sure that partially answers your question.

Kool-Aid and a bit of Drake and Josh. Takes me right back to the summer of ’07.

1. A bit of watermelon on the go, some RiRi (Umbrella) in the background. Guava somewhere in the air. Transports me right back to June ’07. Whether you’re actually on some beach in Hawaii or in front of the telly in the morning, on the dining-table, watching the news, the vibe is … well, a vibe. 2007-Rhianna always wins. She slays and she tropifies.
2. Ukwa (tropical African breadfruit) with oyster-sauce.

I like how Ali (from last year) is perfectly happy letting Elsa be in all her extra-terrestrial quirkiness and resists the collective urge to just label her as schizotypal, or worse. Smiles. Low-key smiles.

Low key agreement on Ali (to my shock horror) and the resistance to rush to judgement on what Elsa claims.

Yep. We live in a society that’s extra-quick to pathologise these days (especially with the over-rise of identification with neurodivergence) but I’m willing to cut Elsa a bit of slack, and I say that as someone who wasn’t initially her number-one fan. People are nuanced.

The elegiac, firm-but-sentimental beauty of Ọ̀ndó State and the Ọ́ka (Awka) parallels from blacksmithing interchange that persist hundreds of years later. It’s like watching the Igbo House in Liverpool from afar, circa 2003, with asún-jollof and some customary pepper-soup while the shell-pink oscillations unfold. Okra, egúsí and goat-meat are three things both groups can settle on. That’s the binding power and captain-smoothened legacy of Toxteth. And there’s no reason why it can’t last forever.

(If you know, you know.)
