Liverpool have no chance of grabbing that fourth place this season IMO, although I do wonder if their fans would prefer not qualifying for Europe at all so their focus can be on the league next season?

A negative to that would be if it would decrease the quality of players who would be interested in coming. Liverpool is a big name club, but most players will be after big wages and Champions League football, which Liverpool cannot offer the second one for a few seasons anyway until they have a big rebuild structure going on.
