Partly right, but it isn't all to do with what we eat.

An average, moderately active 19 year old can consume 5,000 calories per day, yet someone in their mid 30s on 2,500 calories per day can still gain substantial weight.

Look at the gangly teenagers walking the street, thin as poles, their jeans hanging down their butt cheeks. That after consuming numerous pizzas, chips and fizzy pop all day.

If you were as active as I am then you probably wouldn't be 'porgy' (whatever that means I'm just assuming you mean chubby or fat although from pics you've posted before IIRC you're nothing of the sort anyway). And I'm not looking down my nose. I also think its possible to be fat and healthy, just not obese and healthy ...

Could say the same about skinny people ,girls starving themselves to be like Cheryl Cole etc and it isn't healthy to be like that and doesn't always look attractive...

Anyway, id like to spend the day being fat, just to see what its like see what its like.

I eat healthy and exercise 5 - 6 times a week.. and ive never had any problem with my weight (getting fat) just realised i always have a problem with my weight (losing it), ate everything over christmas just everything was full for 4 straight days and i dropped 4 lbs LOL

I'm like that too. I've never had any problem with my weight since I lost 20 kilos. Now I take care of it, exercising, still doing rugby, did some handball, eating healthy (let's say a good balance between everything).

Half Ton Dad

1:20am - 2:20am, More 4.

Kenneth Brumley, 40, weighed 73 stone when he prepared for a do-or-die operation.
This is the story of a father, his family and his country, America, with 15 million morbidly obese people.

For me thats a bigger thing than this "fat gene"

How parents feed their children really depends on how they grow up, so many people overfeed their kids, so many chubbies nowadays.

Yeh but how can a kid who's been bought up that way be to blame, maybe the parents parents were the same ad infinitum...listen I support this woman, shes obese well over 20 stone, some of you would take the piss, call her lazy, stop eating simple! ...and Ive been guilty of saying them very same things I hold my hands up! But she was abused for most of her childhood by her mother father and their friends...she dont drink, smoke anything else, she eats and she cuts herself.to deal with the way she feels...do you think she really wants to be like that, or hasnt tried not to be like that? Its not a simple matter and I think deep down you know that really

LOL.
Silly eh.

I have eaten well for 3 and a half years.
And occasionally for about 3 months go ultra strict diet.

Was told when dieting to eat 1 cheat meal a week or every 2 weeks lol (for gaining weight) and have to eat over 1500 calories in that one meal.

Some people can never be hugely fat no matter how hard they try, a study was done giving slim men upto 10,000 calories per day.. Many put on 20pounds and could not gain any more weight..

Horizon on BBC4 had a good program about this and other studies..

I'm one of those lucky bastards that can eat your house and still be slim - it drives my missus crazy.

Yer in all seriousness, some people are fat because they have deep psychological issues, possibly been abused and some through health problems/genes etc...bit harsh too judge
