It's still violent, you've spent this topic denouncing violent games yet you are championing this one. You are a hypocrite.

No they do not. There are many vulnerable people out there and they do not commit crime because they have not been exposed to any of these images.

No, I am Championing games where they are far from reality.

If there are to be violent games in todays society then games like dead space are the real main areas they should be made as IMO it is far from reality and would make less crime.

You have not convinced me that you aren't a hypocrite. Violence on Necromorphs is still more visceral then anything you'd see on the likes of GTA4.

Ah The Sims is brilliant.
People can die on that though but you don't see people building pools and removing the ladders in reality.

On the subject of a zombie apocalypse seeming like fun it genuinly does come across like that. Provided I had no friends or family bring it on. Anything like Dead Rising and it'll be a great laugh because apparently you have plenty of time to crossdress.

I play CoD and I don't get the urge to grab the nearest gun and go and shoot people. So no I don't think they cause violent people at all. :/

No it doesnt, parents just want to make that excuse up if there child committed a serious crime because they cant accept that there child is a psychopath.

But I do think Violent Video Games do make underaged people like more gore than they probably should.

I don't think they worry about them liking the gore. Its the de-sensitisation from the whole thing they worry about.

Its stupid anyways.

Have you ever thought because theres more humans on this planet in these last 10 to 15 years is why theres more drive by shooting?

More Drive by shootings = More gang activity. Gangs existed long before GTA and they'll exist long after. It's just another weak argument.

I imagine somehow gun control should be the big issue with drive by shooting. Not GTA.

Then again the OP is a noted troll so I don't know why I'm even pointing this out.

I think in rare cases violent games (and violent films) are the trigger for a few unstable people, which then makes them mimic what they have watched/played.

I wouldn't say that it effects the majority though or many of us would be gun touting maniacs, which we are not.

I think it is a yes for people under 18, because I remember there being 2 13 yr olds killing a toddler because they watched childs play. I think its fine for over 18s. Austrialia has banned mortal kombat from being imported, sold or played.

You can't just say 'yes' and leave it at that. No widely accepted link has ever been either proven or accepted by any reputable scientific paper.

It's also crazy that your basing your argument on age. Twenty year olds are just as likely to go nuts as a ten year old. You can't just prop your argument up on the fact that two thirteen year olds just happened to kill someone after watching Child's Play.

It's akin to me saying that because some ageing man off the coast of Venezuela choked on a piece of orange that ergo oranges are dangerous, cause fatalities, and must be banned.

As for Australia they are a second world, weird little corner of the globe in terms of censorship. The citizens there are getting tired of it and eventually they will catch up with the rest of us with relation to freedom of expression in the media and arts.
