The name Nadia comes to mind, she was terrible, but I don't know if I would call her a bully.

Denise on the hand has done nothing but try to bully Michael and the Twins the whole time in there. She tried to do the same thing on BOTS tonight, luckily Michael and the Twins were ready and easily deflected her drunken tomfoolery.

It's not. I have seen loads of posts both here and on DS saying that they did not want "the yanks" to win because of their nationality. I think a lot of people hold the close minded view that it's a British show and that a British celebrity should only win.

I think they used 'yanks' in this case because to some the twins and Michael were not likable and so they grouped them both together in the only way they could, their nationality... I do know that it exists, but not so greatly towards BB.

No these comments were there after Day 1 when nobody could have formed an overall opinion on the housemates yet, people automatically hated them because of their nationality. They could have been brilliant housemates but the xenophobes would still hate them because of where they were born. I didn't think it was apparent so much in BB myself until the last couple of days. It's sad.

The posters on here and DS are in no way an accurate portrayal of the general public. What a silly thing to suggest. The result tonight proved that more than anything.

Yes, there are many xenophobic Britons, just as there are many xenophobic people in all the other countries of the world. But to talk of it as though it's become some epidemic or serious issue is ridiculous.
Not to mention this is a tiny unimportant reality show anyway, who cares who wins. Does it matter? They all get their varied paychecks at the end anyway.

I have nothing against Americans at all, my favourite tv shows are American etc. But, bar Jermaine and Latoya I've not liked a single American BB housemate. So, maybe BB should get some different American people rather than the same playboy bimbos and plastic has-beens.

I wasn't saying they were but there are a lot of xenophobes on both forums. You just have to look at Facebook and there you'll find at least a dozen or so more xenophobes in the comment boxes, calling the Americans "yanks" at every opportunity. I saw loads of accusations that American viewers were cheating the system last night, using fake IP addresses to vote etc. on a few of the videos because the xenophobes couldn't accept that British people might like the American housemates and want them to win.

Lots of people in the UK hold the closed minded view that it's a British show, only a British housemate should win. More of the general public hold this view than I suspected which is a real shame. We will never see an American housemate win a show like this.
