You chose to challenge Bob's points about Millie Dowler with an inane comparison. Don't step into the ring if you can't keep up.

We're off topic. Does it really matter which paper we like to read?

maybe you you step out of ring!
bob trying to get his point across in the fact that he does not like the sun by bringing up the murder of a school girl!
regardless of the sun, she would have still been murdered.

I think it was the events and behaviour after her abduction that were in question.

Yes. Because the more people that continue to buy into and consume this abhorrent crap, the worse it's going to get. People need to wise up to this disgusting claptrap that these rags churn out and understand how supporting these papers is not only morally wrong, but harmful to society.

It's actually quite disturbing that The Sun is the biggest selling newspaper in the UK. Says a lot about British people doesn't it...

Why should I? I'm not the one that can't defend my own arguments.

The Sun's actions interfered with the investigation just for the sake of continuing the story. I don't know how you could defend a paper that's willing to go to such lengths.

Actually Bob, I think it's well on topic. It weaves back to the fact that the tabloids will release all the juicy "facts" about a case so that people can devour them to satiate their need for a constant drip-feed of celebrity gossip. And when a case involving a celebrity finally gets in front of a jury, the sheep that read the tabloids, some of which will unfortunately make up that jury, will have found him guilty already. The British press are a bloody disgrace.

Will the last person in the thread please turn out the lights?...
The British press have for years been used to peddle political ideology, the sun massively and to great effect!
News corp with their 'true blue' leanings and 'hackafact' approach to journalism are used as a means of social control.
But to report on an issue that may have a grain of truth in it?....No! surely not...

I've deleted the posts where the actor is named because, if I'm not mistaken, websites can potentially be held in contempt of court if they name someone a court has said can't be named. And we don't want that.

I think the news articles naming him are previous articles relating to the arrest.
