Quote:
‘When Barack Obama was giving his speech after being elected as president, he had to do it behind three inch thick bullet-proof glass. I thought that was a bit harsh – just because he’s black doesn’t mean he’s going to shoot anyone.’

Anyone that can't see that this is an anti-racism joke is very dense. It's similar to these jokes that The Mirror branded him a racist for and were then subsequently forced by a unanimous jury verdict to pay him £50k in damages:

Quote:
"Basically, we are murdering a load of shepherds. What gets me is our callousness as a society when we read out our dead on the news first, because our lives are more important. Other people's aren't worth as much."

He then adopted a newsreader's tone, saying: "A bomb went off in Kandahar today, killing two British servicemen, three UN relief workers and a whole bunch of pak*s."

The comic said later: "The Ministry of Defence? At least in the old days we were honest, it was the Ministry of War. 'Hello Ministry of War, department of nig*er bombing, how can I help?'"
And as for these...

‘The Pope must have done something that even the Catholic church found unacceptable. My theory is that he *******ed an adult woman.’

‘I thought it was sad that they had that concert for Princess Diana I mean she didnt have much to do with pop music , they should have have done something that celebrated what was really great about her life … by staging a gang bang in a minefield.’

‘Jimmy Savile did an incredible amount of charity work towards the end of his life, just to be sure he could shag Madeleine McCann in heaven.’

They're critiques of the monarchy, disgusting practices of figures within a large religious institution and a child molester, don't see the problem. No one has to like his comedic style or material, that's the beauty of comedy and how everyone has different tastes, but to label him as anything other than a comedian or to slander his character is just utterly moronic

He sold tickets to comedy gigs from it. I reckon that was the idea.

I've seen Frankie Boyle live... I am not a sick get, I just have a very broad minded, dark sense if humour... However, I did feel that that there are times during his show that he's purposely trying to shock rather than be funny and he loses the audience for a while.

Oh God, one of those that can't separate comedy and real opinions and beliefs not content with criticising the comedian, you'll move on to criticising those who have a different sense of humour to you

Just so you know, I have an uncle with downs syndrome and a girl I know well and had a thing with recently overcame cancer, but I'm still able to laugh at jokes about those issues, because they are just that...jokes. Jokes that are designed to see the lighter side of some of the darkest aspects of life. That doesn't change my opinions or feelings of those issues, but laughing at some statements that have no real meaning and have been written to provoke a few laughs at the sheer level of how 'shocking' a joke is doesn't make me some insensitive, emotionless ******. That's it, really.

That's his comedic style though, to see how shocking he can make his jokes. That's more the joke itself than what the joke actually is, if that makes sense. It's actually quite a natural human reaction to laugh in awkwardly shocking situations, and comedians like Frankie play on that. You laugh because you're shocked at how near-the-knuckle the joke is, not necessarily because of what the joke was about...though some of his material does have meaning and makes digs at racist attitudes in this country, or about the government.

He needs to add gypsy jokes to his routine to appeal to a slightly wider demographic.

My whole intention in creating that post was to lead you into laying judgement on not only Boyle but the 5,000 people who pay for a ticket to see him.

Congrats.

You said you'd hope he drown, don't try to take the moral high ground when you are wishing death upon people.

Magnum opus of the Chuff canon, there. Serves deliciously as a sort of 'Best Of ...'

Nah it's divulged into a treatise on Frankie Boyle. We're cutting our way through the greats of Scottish comedy in the hopes of reaching Billy Connolly before Operation Yewtree does.

Nah I love the big Yin but he's surely on everyone's Yewtree bucket list? I'm putting Rod Stewart on it too for the craic. Bombastic knob.

... and only in the hopes the WATERS comes out of exile to defend him.
