She reminds me facially a little bit of Mary before she got zombified in Shaun of the Dead. Speaking of Zombies, I found some Zombie Garden Gnomes online, am tempted to buy one now for the garden

I read this story the other day and if i remember correctly, although the woman didn't have a disabled badge to display, she was indeed disabled, so i don't understand why so many of you are saying she shouldn't of parked there. Tesco doesn't require you to own a disabled badge, or so i read.

They do require a badge in disabled bays, if anyone can park in the bay there wouldn't be much point in having them.

I'm sure when i was reading the story it mentioned that Tesco doesn't insist you have a blue badge when parking in their disabled bays - i don't know if that's true or not but either way if she is telling the truth, she IS disabled and was in pain that day, so i don't understand why people are saying she's immoral or a criminal or whatever, there are much MUCH worse people in the world lol

That's not true, Dollface. Tesco has apparently started to fine customers...

"Tesco has gone a step further than persuasion - reasoning that if drivers are willing to ignore a polite request they are less likely to enjoy paying a hefty fine.

In a trial at one of its Leicester sites, drivers are fined Ł40 if they don't display a disabled parking badge, rising to Ł60 if they fail to pay within a week."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3485239.stm

If you are disabled and park in a disabled bay, you should display a badge. If you don't have a badge, get one. If you can't get one, you're probably not disabled enough to warrant having one.

""I wouldn't have been able to go in if I hadn't used it - my ankles had become so weak that I was worried I'd go over on them. But I was enjoying a day out with my son so was determined to make it in. "

but she was happy to drive a car, happy to drag her son into Tescos on her "enjoyable day out"

If she was that ill go home and do online or shop when you are fit

There is zero evidence she was ill that day or in pain

True enough I suppose it's just anyone could say they were in pain that is why they issue badges for genuine need, I can see her point but she needs to obey the law until she gets one.

I have no idea if she needed a blue badge or not, but as Livia said, park elsewhere until she gets the badge if she is entitled to one.

Picking up on the highlighted bit of your quote LT, I wonder why she never used a wheelchair that day or a walking stick? As there was nothing in the news article to suggest she did.

They're making it up

A rather more flattering picture than the one in the first post, too...

what everyone seems to be forgetting is that aside from anything else, tesco car parks are private land and so not covered by any laws whatsoever with regard to disabled parking, so she was actually perfectly within her rights to park where she did

The car park being private land makes no difference if disabled bays are provided and a badge is required by the company. There are zebra crossings in supermarket car parks, you are still required to stop if a pedestrian is on one.

the only person I feel sorry for is the disabled person who couldn't get a spot because this selfish immoral woman stole the spot illegally

I just wish I'd a grand for the 'disabled' people I know of - badges et al - who play footie every week and hit the dance floor every Saturday night.

(Kirk the Ukipper fascist being controversial again. )
