...she stayed calm while she wilfully broke something of value when it was not the only alternative solution to her children having disregarded the house rules...maybe remove the iPads until her children are able to understand house rules better and follow them..?...many other alternatives but she stayed calm though...if her children become frustrated then it’s ok to destroy a thing of priveledge which has been purchased for them and given to them so long as they ‘appear calm’ while they’re doing it...is the only ‘lesson’ there, Arista baby...gotta keep calm kids while you’re doin’ that destroyin’ you don’t need to be doing...kids you should be looking at what your alternatives are in this situation of frustration just like mamma Kirstie does.....ooops...

TS you are assuming that, you could be right or wrong.
It's impossible, you can't willfully smash something up in a calm and collected way, it isn't a calm act. It's an act of violence. It's that simple.

Frankly, I hope it WAS a case of her losing her temper because someone coldly and calculatingly destroying their child's possessions with a blank face is straight up terrifying, and would likely contribute to a multitude of emotional issues for them in the future. "Anger" is a scary, but ultimately normal and comprehendible emotion. Cold vindictiveness is next level.

OK I agree
but its her Life
her style, her choice to go public
caused her to have to come off her twitter account,
again.

Her life is her life but her kids' lives are their own; she might own the tablets, but she doesn't own her children.

...I would say that she doesn’t own the tablets either once she’s given them as a gift...(..she may have purchased them but she doesn’t own them..)..you give, it no longer belongs to you is the deal for me....they belong to the children then ...in this case...I guess that’s a whole other topic though.....

Violence

"the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation,"

She used physical force to exert her "power". That's a violent act.

You're thinking of aggressive. She wasn't aggressive when doing it.

...I don’t think she’s useless in anyway, Elliot...but I do think her focus is quite narrow in some aspects of parenting she’s commented on and made public...I think she can dismiss and overlook so much in some of her parenting decisions and methods...I personally like her, I think she’s very well-meaning ...but just a bit *cringe* at times...

..the other thing with the flights as well that I’ve just thought..in her and her partner travelling first class while the children were separated in economy etc..?...it’s also the excitement a whole family get in travelling together on holidays and exciting things etc ...that excitement is a whole build up from booking the visit and continuing to include flights as well...something a family share together in seeing the excitement your children are experiencing with the whole thing....?...she deprived herself from sharing that with the boys and from them sharing it with their parents during the flight...

Yeah exactly and Luke gets a bit nervous flying too so I always like to be near him to make sure he's ok (and he's 14 now )

To be fair, if a parent has a fear of flying so it would probably be better if the kids didn't see them as that could be quite worrying .

"Ooh this seems a bit scary... it's totally safe though, right?"

" YES IT'S FINE Strap in Kids! I love you! I will always love you, no matter what happens! FAREWELL"

So long as she's not beating, starving or in other ways abusing them, I'm happy to leave the parenting decisions to her.

Sounds to me like she lost control, not once but twice because to smash portable items to bits when she could have confiscated them is not a calm and measured response no matter how she dresses it up.

Also to the travelling in first class while your kids travel separately I do not understand that at all, that to me is, look at me I am more important than you, it is not teaching them the value of money, its teaching them that having money sets you apart from others, for me I find it a joy to give my kids stuff that me and Mr C didn't have growing up, simply because we can, they still know the value of money and how hard Mr C and me work to give them that standard of living, denying them stuff because they haven't earned it when they aren't at the age to earn it is just stupid, obviously if they are 25 and still relying on Mum and Dad to pay for everything its different, but her kids 8 and 10 or something

Re: the plane... if it was purely about teaching them the value of money she'd have plonked her arse back in economy with them, not sent them there on their own.

Idiot. And of course you cannot break an Ipad by gently tapping it on the table She can try and talk her way out of it all she wants, she lost control and smashed their stuff. To 'teach them, a lesson' I totally get, but you would just take them off them and maybe give them to someone else..or keep them out of view. Not smash them. So yeah, she got violent infront of her kids, which is not good and nothing to basically brag about.

She looked like she was in two minds about saying it at all, dressed up as "because of how people might react" but surely what that really means is, "because I know it was too far". She should have gone with that first instinct and kept her trap shut, it turns out .
