Well, they’ve banned beef. Not specifically burgers. The world hasn’t gone mad parm, but if we dont do something soon then there won’t even be a world to go mad.

Beef farmers seem to be a soft target

I saw a picture of FB of all the airplanes over Europe at any given time, but its the cows that are killing us

Tbf, if people are inclined to want to help make a difference, they can only do so in ways they are able to. Unless a university uses planes, nothing they do to change as an organisation will have an effect on air traffic.

That still doesn't change the fact that beef farmers are a soft target, I know a bit about this as my brother is one and there are a lot of things going on that are actually bringing the industry to its knees, the way things are going it wont matter if there isn't a planet because food will be in short supply as farmers go out of business

Well people aren't stopping eating. They stop eating one thing and start eating something else.

That's because the process of using animals for food damages the environment far more than transport does.

Exactly, there's an obvious cost to moves like this. The farming industry might not seem very important to people living in cities or in suburbia but it's critical to our nation's food supply and to rural communities in general.

I don't agree with dictating people's diets either and this rush to condemn anyone who dissents from the extreme eco doctrine

People are being led down the garden path on the impact that such things have, and the every little helps argument is complete tosh

Here we are leaving the EU likely without a trade deal with our nearest neighbours and setting up trade deals with countries on the other side of the world. That has a huge impact on the environment and not a single **** is being given.

Reducing beef production isn’t a meaningless gesture?

Oh yeah, I forgot one university ending their beef sales will save the world.

Beef production in the West is meaningless compared to the pollution in third world/developing nations.

That reminds me of when Jamie Oliver was tackling schools to serve healthy food and parents were shoving junk food through the fence to their kids .

All of it - all of our efforts here, the farming industry, air travel - is for nowt if the developing nations where more than half of the global population lives doesn't sort out their industrial emissions. Which is very unlikely to happen in time. just be thankful that the **** won't REALLY start to hit the fan within our lifetimes.

All of them if we don’t do anything.

Besides, why are you asking me, it was BOTS who said we should let those countries ‘fall into oblivion’ to reduce global warming
