In terms of "if she had been a nurse"... basically if it was found that she used a stolen card knowingly, in the hospital, while on shift, I think it's pretty much certain that she would lose her registration and no longer be able to work as a nurse.

But again, NMC stuff is different from "usual employment" stuff and they have strict rules about professional standards etc.

...although on top of that, if a staff member when I worked retail had been caught using a customer's card that had been found... whether that customer was alive or dead... they would almost certainly have been fired for gross misconduct.

i think anyone who has had a relative in hospital that required critical care would be asking serious questions. Those who have relatives in critical care now will likely have huge trust issues brought on by this, the amount of the theft is irrelevant

Imagine dragging Bots' lifeless corpse to the Tesco self-checkout only to discover that his Apple Pay watch needs a damned pulse to activate, and having to do CPR just to pay for your meal deal. Grim.

If no crime was committed cause she was dead, then jimmy saville is innocent of many of his crimes committed in hospitals.

Why is nobody wondering why this hospital worker is going through a dead patient's personal belongings in the first place , the only way you'd want to go through a patient's wallet / personal stuff etc is to find ID and contact details for their family and next of kin surely ? . Why would the first thought be to steal money/ use their credit cards??!

Hm. Perhaps not "daily" but yeah it may well not be the first time.

So it's only stealing if you buy drugs with the money? I don't think that's how the law works Nicky
