I mean the sad reality there is if a 50 year old white man tried to stop a group of 15-20 year old white lads kicking someone's head in, they'd just end up on the receiving end of the same shoe.

None of the violence is excusable - there are an awful lot of half-truths being told though e.g. it was made out that this guy was attacked totally at random while just minding his own business - and yet you can plainly see several other white men in the video, none of them being attacked.

Again that's not to say there's any excuse for him being attacked like this and he's lucky (if it is the case) not to be seriously injured or dead... but it's obviously not a random bystander. And people know that but pretend it is purely to stoke up fear.

The government (and previous government) have all variety of experts advising them, sociologists, social psychologists, historians, political science experts with vast experience... when they play dumb (as they so often do) there's absolutely no doubt that they're playing. Of course they know. Everything they put out is tailored for public consumption with a goal in mind, the conversations going on behind closed doors will be completely different.

you have to ask why are the media not welcome, Sky and LBC both run out of areas now? Jonathan Ashworth was also told he was not welcome while campaigning they have a problem there that needs addressing unless we are saying some areas are out of bounds for some people?

How about this for an answer:

Media companies have regurgitated these anti-Muslim/immigration talking points, often fed to them by politicians, so why would they be open to the media coming into their communities now, just to rubber neck at the violence?

Jonathan Ashworth made a completely racist comment about sending people back to Bangladesh (as was Starmer, by the way) in the run up to the election, and you wonder why he might not be welcome?

I hold no one else responsible other than the morons who started this whole criminal rioting scenario on misinformation and lies.
They alone are responsible for the original violence carried out by them and against the Police too.

I think another part of the problem is that "for some reason" (we know the reason of course) people seem to be totally unwilling to accept that moderate Muslims exist and it is, in fact, the majority of Muslims. There's a LARGER proportion of more hardline Muslims than Christians (in the UK at least, I'm not so sure about the US) but the majority are not.

It reminds me of the clip that goes around of an old documentary where a working-class white family and a Muslim family are put together to have dinner in each other's homes, and the white mum is absolutely fascinated to see that they have "a PlayStation and Sky!" and that the house "Doesn't even smell like Muslims" .
