Phillipines was a solid season. Although there were no stand-out moments, the cast was strong, it plodded along nicely, and there was little to take offence to (unlike in the abomination that is WA). I also wasn't expecting Denise to win - for some reason I had it in my head it would be Skupin!

Starting S26 later today hopefully - I know Erik, Corinne, Brenda, Fran, Philip, Andrea, Dawn, Cochran and Malcolm are in it. idk who the tenth is (is there even a tenth?) but I thought it was Colton but luckily found out that wasn't the case

I only got through 10 mins of the Caramoan premiere yesterday and restarting today - but I just find the favourites selection hilarious.

Corinne is horrendous, Cochran is a total wet blanket, Franny (although worthy!) was a first vote-off, Andrea is totally forgettable, Philip is one of the most controversial castaways ever, and Cochran just sucks.

Was there not a bit of outrage when the cast was revealed?

This is one of the seasons I don't fully get the hate for. I quite liked this season and was shocked it's not that well recieved by fans. It's not one of the best seasons, but for me it was mid-tier, a lot of people put it low tier though. I enjoyed quite a few of the castaways; Shamar, Laura, Brenda, Erik from what I remember.

Although Blood v Water the next following season I loved, which again people think is a mid-tier season, but I personally loved that season and the format/twist was really refreshing, and they repeated that twist for S29, and its one of the survivor twists that actually work. So you've got a good patch of seasons following this one that you can look forward to, S27-S29 are all classics for me.

Most Caramoan people were either boring or awful. Eddie, Sherri and Laura were the only ones I fully liked in the end.

like i'm mainly talking in terms of location and theming - from S22 onwards they're all basic beach seasons
