It's a bizarre thing to even have on TIBB. You can get infracted for pointing out inaccuracies in someones argument, but yet we get to rank the members?

I've seen posters who have been hibernating for most of my time on here, suddenly come out of the woodwork and start threads and post in more threads than I've seen them in before.

If this is important, then TIBB should introduce a reputation system, so the content of what people post becomes the main focus, rather than building up a nice little group and being ranked highly.

I agree with all you've said but when push comes to shove: anyone who actually takes it seriously , who truly does believe they are Most Loved, isn't factoring in the have a laugh factor - it's mostly (not in all cases) but who's pally with who. I say that because I too also tend to do half mine with people I'm friendly with and have a common bond with - and the other half with people I don't necessarily like - but I do think they bring a lot to the forum.

It's fun, it's a laugh, and anyone actually taking it serious needs their heads looked at.

You're over thinking it. It's not important, few people take it seriously, it's just nice to be involved, have the TiBB community be friendly for once and say lovely things about their interweb friends or those who they respect (in the context of a forum).

I'm yet to be on a forum where the reputation system hasn't been abused. And I don't want little green boxes telling me who's a better poster than who, I'll decide that for myself. The whole system is condescending and off putting as a forum user. Most Loved isn't anything like that. These aren't rankings that'll mean anything the day after the event. It's just forum users being positive about other forum users. You're putting to much weight on these rankings. Sure, a few will try to get extra votes or w/e, but they're in the minority.
